((Guest Accommodations - Wallace Colony, Kahines II))
With the teams situated for the next phase of the archeological mission Alroyo decided touching base with Filistrien would be advantageous moving forward.
Lyara: Filistrien, when you do a background check can you send any information you find?
Filistrien: Yes Sir. It shall be on your PADD before the shuttle is cleared to depart tomorrow.
Alroyo gave him a satisfied nod.
Lyara: Sounds good, I recommend you brush up on your Klingon.
Xandeus gave her a wry smirk.
Filistrien: jIyaj. (I understand)
She smiled at his demonstration of Klingon, hers was a little rusty since she only spoke it when she was younger during a “Klingon admiring” phase many Bajoran children had gone through since the end of the Dominion War. Even though she picked it back up at the academy she would rather the former communications specialist handle any major conversations in Klingon.
Sadar: You have your assignments. We’ll set out at 0700 tomorrow for the Klingon landing site, where we’ll split into our respective teams. Dismissed.
(((Timeskip: The following morning)))
((Cockpit of the USS Griffin - Skies above Wallace Forest))
To say the tension at the Vahr’sto’s landing site was palpable would have been an understatement. Upon Lyara meeting Dr. B’Equ she immediately saw what Lieutenant Sadar meant by her being aggressive, even for a Klingon. After peering over her file with the Petty Officer she was still confused as to why B’Equ harbored a resentment with the Mizarian Officer.
The evidence on file showed that not only was her houses’ background as typical as any Klingon house could get, but her record was clean too. Even her career in history proved that she was in no way an aggressive actor. If anything, her pursuing academics should have been enough to cause Lyara to lower her guard around her. However, more mixed signals were given once they were in the cockpit and the tension seemed to stay with them on the ground as they lifted off in the shuttle.
B’Equ: The sensors are primed. We need five good and slow runs over the fortress at varying altitudes to get a proper scan. Start us up at 78.4 volcs.
Alroyo typed into the helm the new altitude and typed in a command to begin the first slow run.
Lyara: Course set, Petty Officer begin scanning the strata. Start from the top and work your way down. ::She chuckled slightly:: Although I’m sure you didn’t need a reminder.
Filistrien: Aye Sir, aiming the sensors at the upper layer of sediment.
B’Equ: Your sensors are good. These will be adequate scans.
Alroyo raised an eyebrow at the Klingon doctor complimenting a Federation vessel. While yes, these sensors are amazing, her sudden cooperation was off putting.
Lyara: The best in the fleet, or at least I like to think we are.
She chuckled then looked at Filistrien and gave him a covert look that said “you hearing this too?”.
Filistrien: Response
As Alroyo turned back to the helm she looked over the data that was being shared between the three consoles. The first layer had started to reveal some scorpionmole tunnels and the lower levels of the prison.
Lyara: Are you seeing anything interesting on your screen doctor?
The Klingon doctor looked over the data and gave a satisfied nod.
B’Equ: Preliminary scans are showing what we already know so far. However it will help with calibrating deeper scans.
Lyara: Prepare to go up an interval Petty Officer.
Alroyo moved the shuttle double the original altitude and then nodded to Filistrien.
Filistrien: Response
Over the second pass, underground tunnels from both the prison and scorpionmoles started appearing on the map. The maze of the lower levels of the Klingon prison were nonsensical to Alroyo as she tried to follow them.
Lyara: Are we getting faulty readings Filistrien? Or are the tubes just that hectic in design?
Filistrien: Response
