Munro: :: raised her hands in mock defeat :: I'm not a xenobiologist!
The Nausicaan and the Brikarian started to stir, seemingly to rouse themselves from the effects of their brawl.
MacKenzie: How much did we pay for these tickets?
The first officer, clearly unwilling to offer any unnecessary information, chose instead to dodge the question.
Munro: Uhm, not too much. Just a hundred slips. Each.
MacKenzie shook her head as it looked like the Brikarian was going to get it together before the Nausicaan would. ...Let the whomping continue.
MacKenzie: Too much. (beat) There better be some blood before this match is over.
Munro: Just out of curiousity. Has anyone scanned you for Klingon DNA?
Addison made a face.
MacKenzie: Listen, if they're going to stage the match, they might as well make it more interesting and draw some blood.
The Nausicaan and Brikarian fell into the rhythm of the match, clearly designed to keep the audience enthralled for as much and as long as possible. MacKenzie, arms still crossed with half of the unfinished hot dog in one hand, now had a first officer who seemed to be just as unenthused with the lack of mysticism carrying on in the ring..
Munro: You want to get out of here and grab some food? These snacks have only made me hungry?
MacKenzie: What about the bet?
Munro: I am willing to forfeit my bet.
MacKenzie was already out of her chair stuffing the rest of the hot dog in her mouth as she moved.
MacKenzie: Not a moment too soon.
The pair were up and out of the gymnasium, Addison taking the opportunity to scowl at the Ferengi who'd scammed Ava out of their money, choosing not to let her half-full stomach be the thing that would escalate a potential argument. Instead, the Starfleet officers spilled out into the street, and MacKenzie was thankful the rain had stopped for a bit. As they started to walk up the street in the direction of many brightly colored neon signs advertising various cuisines, shops, and attractions, MacKenzie spotted a familiar face peering in store windows. She wasn't sure if the figure was confused, or looking for someone.
MacKenzie: ::squinting:: Is that... Doctor Bancroft?
Munro: Response
MacKenzie: Why is it that any time I've seen him out of Sickbay he's either looked like he's lost, or confused?
Munro: Response
The pair of officers approached the doctor, still engrossed in whatever he was trying to see through the glass pane of the establishment's facade. MacKenzie cleared her voice as they walked up, so as not to startle him.
MacKenzie: Looking for something, Doctor Bancroft?
Bancroft/Munro: Response
MacKenzie: Commander Munro and I were just about to grab something to eat. Would you like to join us?
She wasn't sure if she'd ever seen that shade of white before. Likely an unconditioned response.
Bancroft/Munro: Response
MacKenzie pointed to the window in which Bancroft had been looking.
MacKenzie: What about this place? Do they have anything to eat?
She'd looked at the sign above the establishment, but it was in a language she didn't recognize. No time like the present to be adventurous.
Bancroft/Munro: Response
