((Gymnasium, Deck 4 - USS Artemis-A))
Talos had just been bested by Genkos in a rather intense Tassa’akai match. It had come down to the wire, but the doctor had scored the final blow in the end with the classic Flanarian strike.
Now, with the match over, the pair of Betazoids were rehydrating and doing a bit of cooldown stretching. Not for the first time, Talos noted how freely he was able to move in the stretchy bodysuit that was standard attire for the game.
Dakora: You know, if MacKenzie finds out that you spent the morning wailing on me with a stick, she’s going to be jealous. ::He laughed.:: Might give you a medal..
Genkos' answering laugh was as smug as it was amused, and the snap of his akai collapsing only added to the performance.
Adea: Whose idea do you think this was?
He grinned despite himself, still stretching, still rubbing at the sore spot on his side. His body was going to complain about this later, but… damn, it had felt good to get back into it.
Dakora: Speaking of Captains– current and former– how is Commodore Nicholotti doing? You two get any time on Risa together?
Genkos’ face softened immediately, the memory clearly a good one.
Adea: Oh did we. She’s well - she’s enjoying jaunting around the galaxy on the Eagle, and they seem a good crew.
He took another drink, then leaned back slightly, tossing his friend a sly look.
Dakora: That’s good. They’re lucky to have her. ::He smiled.:: And I’m glad you two found some time. It can’t be easy to get both of your schedules to line up.
Talos dropped onto the bench, tossing a towel around his neck and taking a long pull from his water bottle.
Adea: What about you? How’s your love life going?
Dakora: ::He coughed into his water bottle at the comment.:: I guess you haven’t talked to MacKenzie, then?
He considered how he’d approach the subject before realizing that Genkos was the CMO and would have to be brought in on the whole mess pretty much as soon as Samantha arrived.
Dakora: I’ve actually been seeing someone for a while now. Started after Frontier Day last year.
Adea: Response
Talos leaned forward a bit, capping his water and wiping the sweat off his face with one side of his towel.
Dakora: Samantha Richards? Not sure if you met her. She was part of that Amity bunch that hitched a ride with us. ::He waved his hand.:: Either way, you’ll meet her soon enough. She’s joining the crew as a civilian auxiliary scientist.
Adea: Response
He shrugged, turning to Genkos. He was one of the few people Talos knew with some experience with co-habitating and co-existing with a partner on the same ship. And he and the Commodore had seemingly done it well.
Dakora: Yeah, it kinda feels like a big step… but then again… not really, considering she’s pregnant. Kind of an in for ‘one strip, in for the full bar’ situation, you know?
Adea: Response
He wasn’t sure what reaction he’d expected from the wiry doctor, but it came anyway.
Dakora: It’s a cautionary tale not to let your injection date slip just because sickbay is under wartime conditions. You never know when you might need it. ::He screwed up his face as he realized what he’d just said.:: Or maybe that’s just a me problem…
Adea: Response
