Tarsan: Well, uh, I guess anything on the specs I could just look up so... ::pausing to think about it:: ...what's your favourite thing about the Artemis?

Gavrin smiled internally when he saw the Captain's eyebrows raise. Finally, a question that she didn't appear to have expected from him. The Betazoid relaxed, just slightly.

MacKenzie: Well, if I answered honestly, I'd have to say the crew. We have some of the best and brightest minds in Starfleet aboard.

The engineer gave a thoughtful nod before following-up.

Tarsan: and.. I guess, least favourite?

MacKenzie: Probably this desk. I had a really nice one until a former first officer of mine blew a hole in the wall behind me here ::gesturing for dramatic effect:: and it got sucked out into space.

Gavrin couldn't help the laugh that escaped him at that, glancing down at the desk.

Tarsan: Wow. I uh... wasn't expecting that. What happened to him?

MacKenzie: It's a shame the vacuum of space didn't claim him as well, but ::shrugging:: he moved on to other opportunities.

Tarsan: It uh, sounds like he wasn't your favourite.

Silence fell again, and Gavrin shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other as he watched the Captain. It stretched and stretched before it finally snapped.

MacKenzie: Has anyone ever told you you're a man of few words, Mr. Tarsan?

Tarsan: ::wryly:: Often... I was a pretty quiet kid.

MacKenzie: response

Gavrin chewed on it for a long moment, contemplating how much of himself to reveal to the Captain. Still she'd asked for something interesting about him so... He shrugged and decided to rip the plaster off now.

Tarsan: ::pausing:: I uh... I was pretty late into my telepathy. So I didn't... socialise well. It kinda sucks when everyone can talk at you and you can't talk back.

He resisted the urge to let out a long breath of relief. He didn't like talking about it, but it wasn't like the world would immediately end if he did.

MacKenzie: response

Tarsan: ::nodding:: Yeah, it's pretty obvious, huh? Sorry, Captain.

MacKenzie: response
