((Chez Adea, Dekoa, Betazed))

Total silence. Genkos looked outside and saw that nothing outside was moving. It was all as still as picture. He turned back to the rest of his team and saw their away team was one member bigger.

Adea: CloQ.

The entity waved, then peered at the watch where their combadge should be on the Artemis uniform they were wearing.

CloQ: Well, hello there.

Jovenan: You’re the one who sent us here?

Sadar: Response

Tevet walked closer to the Q, and Genkos could sense that she felt very little fear, which made him tremble slightly. Tevet had no idea what they were facing here, and with the capricious nature of CloQ, they might either hug Tevet or remove her from the timeline entirely.

Elain: Why did you take Genkos, Jovial and Sadder here?

Genkos hesitated - Tevet had a valid question, although the tone might leave little to be desired for the Q.

Jovenan: Is this supposed to be some sort of a game?

CloQ: Games are meant to be fun, and I am having fun. So yes, I guess one could consider this a game. Certainly, the last time I met this crew, I enjoyed having that horny Betazoid confront his past. ::he looked over at Genkos:: The other horny Betazoid. The one with the mummy issues that cause him to latch onto your Captain.

Adea: This is about Talos?

Genkos was confused; CloQ went from being obsessed with Kalianna to Addison, and now to Talos with a brief detour to de-age Vitor. What in the four hells was their motivation here?

Sadar: Response

Elain: I don’t think you’re tough. I think you’re a stupid bully and you smell.

CloQ turned their gaze onto Tevet, and Genkos gripped his cane tightly in response.

Jovenan: That’s, um, not exactly how we would put that.

CloQ laughed, a high giggle, that caused their head to tilt back, and the Betazoid doctor to cringe inwardly.

CloQ: That’s because, my dear… Jovenan is it? ::they raised a pale hand and pointed a slender finger at her.:: That’s because you are a coward. ::the moving finger pointed at Gila:: Although not as much as Anxiety McNervous over there.

Adea: Leave my crew alone, CloQ.

Sadar/Elain: Response

Jovenan bravely tried to gently shove Tevet behind her and Genkos too took a step forward to put himself between the Q and the girl.

Jovenan: You did bring us to her, you must have known she was like that. She even threatened us with a knife! You must have had some purpose in doing so.

CloQ paused, their mouth open for a moment as they seemed to consider their answer again.

CloQ: Purpose? ::their anger was barely concealed:: My purpose is to make your Betazoid friends confront their pasts. You’ve got mummy issues Dakora, and then the doctor here has been running from every trauma he’s ever had. He’s terrified that if he ever stops to confront any of them, well… ::they raised a brow at Genkos:: What do you think will happen, doctor?

Genkos took another step forward and put himself between everyone else and the Q. When he spoke, his voice was calm and collected, with a bubbling rage just running underneath. He knew that to lose his temper at them was to risk death and dismemberment, but the supercilious petaQ was pushing Genkos’ buttons.

Adea: Put Betazed to how it was, CloQ, leave my crew alone and play your games elsewhere.

Sadar/Elain/Jovenan: Response

And like that, the Q had disappeared. Genkos let out a long breath and smacked a fist down on the desk. It really hurt, but it dispelled his anger like a summer storm relieved air pressure.

Adea: Right, we know that the Romulans joined late, and that’s why Betazed is still under Dominion rule. Last time we faced CloQ, they created an inter-weaving lattice of times and places - perhaps there’s a way we can find our ways back in time and correct the timeline.

Sadar/Elain/Jovenan: Response

Genkos’ voice got faster and more urgent as he started to build up a head of steam.

Adea: Open every door you can, even cupboards, and just check to see if there’s anywhere you don’t expect. Tevet, does that sound familiar - is there a door that doesn’t budge in this house?

Sadar/Elain/Jovenan: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
