((Sickbay - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))
Munro: Okay, let's get started then. No use waiting around.
Jaran: Wonderful! You'll be out of here before you know it. Now relax. Or try to, I guess.
Those words were sweet music to her ears. The doctor moved the scanner that was still suspended above her backwards and placed it over her knee. They then held up a probe of some description to the side of her knee before they turned to her.
Jaran: Ready for the first one?
Munro: Go right ahead.
Jaran applied the probe around her knee. She felt a strange sensation, somewhere in-between itching and aching. It wasn't painful but it made her grind her teeth.
Munro: It's a little uncomfortable.
Jaran: I understand. Let's hurry up and finish the rest, then.
Munro: I appreciate that doc.
It took several more rounds to finish up the procedure and then she was free - and eager to train for her race with Bancroft. Now that she had uncovered a potential disadvantage.
