Ens Lyara Alroyo - New Ready Room, Familiar Face

After a longer-than-anticipated flight from Bajor to Sol, Lyara was ready to get checked in on her new ship. Her shoulders and back ached despite the stretches that she did daily on the shuttle however, the stiff chair she had along with the small bed didn’t help. Still, she walked as if she had gotten great rest with an outward appearance of confidence. As she approached the door to the ready room she started to feel nervous and felt herself begin to hold her breath.
She stopped in front of the door as she looked to ring it, gently hovering her hand over the button. Lyara remembered her first experience with the captain was during her exam when she stopped the simulation for the other group. After Lyara’s segment ended she remembered seeing the Captain yelling at the cadets as the holodeck ended the program. She did respect the captain immensely however, she was still very nervous to meet her. Lyara took a deep breath in and then out, and mustered herself to gently ring the doorbell.

Having been invited in Lyara opened the door, she made eye contact with the captain as she stopped in front of the desk. She stood for a moment trying to find the right greeting before she spoke.
Lyara: Ensign Lyara reporting for duty sir.

She gently took a seat across from the Captain and put on a polite smile to hide her nerves.
Lyara: The shuttle ride was nice, I got to visit Deep Space Nine for a small pilgrimage. And I got to meet Dr. Sadar, she was very nice.
Recounting her visit had helped ease her nerves. She genuinely did enjoy the trip even if the shuttle ride had proven uncomfortable, she made a new acquaintance which was enough for her to count as a success. Her nerves finally calmed, a more natural smile formed on her face.
