Ensign Ollie Bergmen - Unexpected meeting

Olli stretched and yawned as he walked toward Elysium.

His shift had ended, and after pulling a double to secure more shore leave for a visit to his family back on Gideon, he intended to grab a quick bite to eat before heading back to bed. He needed to get enough sleep to prepare for another double shift ahead.

While reviewing the latest reports and finishing his overdue paperwork to avoid wasting time, he waited in line for the food replicators to get his falafel shakshuka and head for the tables.

Adea: Oliver, join me!

Ensign turned to the voice and saw Commander Adea waving behind one of the tables. The address was curiously formal—after all, only his father called him by that name, and sometimes his mother when she was upset with him. Despite this, Bergmen was still searching for a table to sit at, and this one was as good as any. A little company, especially if he could sit with someone of a higher rank, never hurt.

Bergmen: Good day, commander.

Bergmen took his seat as Genkos signaled the waitress for a drink before turning to Ollie.

Adea: So, how was your mission? Did you succeed in finding the Tritorian?

Ensign shrugged while eating his food and replied between bites.

Bergmen: Our task was to retrieve cargo from the wreck, so locating the ship was not that much of a problem. And you, commander? Did you was down there?

Ollie glanced up from his food and looked at Commander Adea.

Adea: Response

Bergmen lowered his head and nodded in appreciation.

Bergmen: That must have been interesting. In our mission, some things...most of them, didn't go as planned. We got abducted and found all about that conspiracy from an Orion survivor who crash-landed on the planet a couple of hundred years ago... We also managed to prevent a civil war.

Bergmen paused and thoughtfully raised a soaked piece of pita bread in the air.

Bergmen: Is it normal for missions on Artemis to go so crazy like that, Commander?
