((Quark’s Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holo-Suite Arcade - Deep Space Nine))
Yellir: We need to start doing marathons again or whatever thing Earth did with the running races. You know? The really odd and pointless ones they started doing, those ones where you’d run so long that trusting a bowel movement stops being ideal, those ones.
Swaying involuntarily around chairs and tables, Hallia’s head didn’t seem to move with her body as she blissfully moved towards the nearest door. Guffaws were heard behind her, and the yells of a nearby patron. The Yelikan’s hands wrapped tightly around her drink as ice cubes rattled against the glass.
Patron: Hey! What do you think you are-
As they removed themselves from the bar, Talos clearly had an idea he needed to tell them.
Dakora: We should totally have a race on the Artemis. ::He beamed.:: I bet I could win. ::His brow furrowed.:: Or maybe Addison. She’s pretty leggy. ::He felt his face redden a little as he
realised what he’d said.:: Uh, not that I’ve noticed.
Genkos whirled around and pointed an enthusiastic finger at the Betazoid colleague as Hallia turned her head behind her.
Adea: Ah-ha! I knew it!
Yellir: That she’s a good runner or…?
Miraculously avoiding stumbling, her attention shifted as the door behind them faded. She heard dirt crunch under her feet and glanced around with confusion. Flaring nostrils and tapping hooves made her wonder if they were even still on the station— as a trio of horses sat pitched to a sunken post.
They neared a camp, with small tents and a small bonfire lit before them.
Dakora: I… uh, think we took a wrong turn somewhere
.
Adea: Never mind that! Let’s go back a bit - you have a thing for the Captain!
Yellir: Huh—
From the scenery change to the sudden enthusiasm of a drunk Doctor, Hallia was incredibly lost in the conversation. She looked back to where the door was as if retracing her steps would jog her memory.
Dakora: Response
Adea: ::shaking his head:: No, everyone’s made out that I’m crazy for thinking it, but there’s definitely a spark there - ::he put an arm around Talos’ shoulders:: you should totally go for it, man, worst she can do is…::he thought about it a bit:: jettison you out an airlock.
Yellir: The jettison part is the least scary because that’d be over quickly, no, she wouldn’t make it so quick if she genuinely wanted to spite you. But I like to think she wouldn’t be so crass.
Dakora: Response
Hallia waved a hand before sipping her drink. She could already feel her balance slowly but surely slipping away.
Yellir: Hold on— let’s sit down before I fall over, this is so much information.
A nearby set of three logs triangulated the bonfire as she quickly sat herself in place.
Adea/Dakora: Response?
Yellir: When did this start happening— like when did you two… you know…?
Adea/Dakora: Response?
Yellir: I feel awful asking this, cause I know she would probably end me. But do you think she ever considered…?
Adea/Dakora: Response?
