((Southend Beach, Risa))

Vitor kept a serious stare on Genkos, but it was totally undermined by the grin on Vitor’s lips.

Silveira: Well, at least now you get a chance to catch up. Also… There’s one thing…

Genkos made a noise of curiosity, and raised his own eyebrow back at Vitor, who merely winked.

Silveira: I still think you should have gotten that flute tattoo.

Genkos let out a long, low laugh and shook his head.

Adea: Absolutely not.

Vitor shrugged and winked at him

Silveira: Figures.

Adea: Not even if you were getting one as well…

Vitor frowned, before shaking his head and stretching.

Silveira: Nope. I don’t mind sharing drinks and taking care of you when you're drunk… ::he winked:: But you keep rebuffing my suggestions so no matching tattoos anytime soon. However I have something for you…

Genkos’ eyebrow remained in that cocked position that was the default when talking to Vitor. As much as he was very fond of the man, he was full of surprises. We was predictable in his unpredictability.

Adea: ::letting out not-quite-a-sigh:: What is it now?

Vitor winked and stood up.

Silveira: I will offer you a challenge

Genkos looked at his friend, the briefest flicker of uncertainty showing in his face.

Adea: Okay…

Vitor grinned and with his foot he kicked some of the sand to Genkos’ legs and lap.

Silveira: Last one in the water pays the drinks.

Adea: Oh-THAT’S NOT FAIR!

Vitor had immediately run towards the sea, and Genkos waved his stick at him in well-humoured exasperation, before half-running, half-walking in the man’s wake. He saw Toto turning towards the running figures, and Vitor noticing the dog himself.

Silveira: Toto, come join us…

Vitor laughed as he slowed down, approaching the water. Toto let out a bark, and chased after the man, catching up with Vitor just as the water began lapping at the fellow’s ankles. Toto, not really knowing what was going on, but enjoying himself immensely, jumped up at Vitor. If this had been a few years ago, when Toto was still a small pup, that would have been fine. But now he was a full-sized Weimaraner, and Vitor wasn’t enough to halt the barrelling momentum of the dog.

SPLASH!

Dog and man went head over heels into the surf, Toto yapping happily as his finely-brushed coat became matted with the salt water. Genkos stopped mid-stride and his hands flew to his head in amused frustration. He wasn’t sure who he was more vexed by, the man or the dog, and so he just laughed and shook his head.

Adea: Oh… bother.

It was going to take a while to stop Toto smelling of wet dog.

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
