(( Conference Room – Deck 121, Deep Space 224 ))
The ceiling lights grew dim and distant. The low chatter of the room phase shifted, becoming dull and flat. Voices from the past rose up and then died back as the world eclipsed into darkness.
Tho'Bi: ::snoring:: Snrrrrrk…. Snrrrrk…. Snrrrrk….
//THO’BI DREAM STARTS//
((MAIN BRIDGE, DECK ONE - USS ARTEMIS-A ))
A volley of phased energy bolts screamed across the darkness, collapsing the shields in a shuddering instance of electric-emerald sparks. The Artemis shook violently. With the Inertial Dampeners stuck at minimum, they did little to compensate. Bulkheads flexed and cracked. Power conduits overloaded and erupted in plumes of golden sparks. Shards of display consoles blew out across the bridge. A crack spat down the center of the main viewscreen… and stopped.
The great spacecraft, held in mid-lurch. Shards of display consoles sparkled in the air, their velocity halted. Golden sparks hung, like branches overbearing fruit, fixed in the moment before harvest. Smoke, wisp and spiral, rendered canopy, turbulent motion arrested.
The Andorian looked around. His antennae sensed no movement, not one vibration, one fluctuation across the entire bridge. “Meow!” The cat sat tall on the cracked and pixelated Engineering console in front of him. Green eyes fixed on dark blue. His antennae flexed as, inside his head, he sensed words that were not his own.
oO I'm really very upset with you right now. Oo
The words moved salubrious through his mind in an elegant precession of regal entitlement and vain disinterest.
oO I have not seen you since you returned me to the Mama. How dare you disappear? You are my bag man Oo
White and black fur bristled in the stuck red pulse of emergency. Green eyes remained fixed on dark blue.
Tho’Bi: ::confused:: Little One?
oO And where do I find you? Back here. Over and over again ::beat:: Moping. Oo
Tho’Bi: ::defensive:: I'm not… ::thinning out:: what if I could have done it better
oO Well… Oo
The cat's body arched forward, her green eyes drawing closer to him.
oO What if you could? Oo
The Andorian Engineer looked down at the tight delicate frame of white and scattered black, the pink collar around the slight of neck, the big green eyes fixed on his.
Tho’Bi: ::quiet:: What would happen?
oO No one can see beyond a choice they do not understand. Oo
White and black cat fur expanded, eclipsing his field of vision; huge green eyes, the bridge was gone, only the cat remained. White and black became peripheral, one green eye, into the dark of the iris.
Nothing but black.
And then…. In the distance, a pale blue sphere.
It grew ever larger… and as it grew, it turned blood red.
A great silver blade descended upon the blood red moon, and cut it into two.
The steady pulse of medical equipment. Transparent Aluminum walls. Transparent Aluminum floor. Transparent Aluminum ceiling. …Transparent Aluminum airlock.
Shu-Tunk. The heavy transparency of the inner airlock door swung open. It never swung before. Silver drape, environmental suit. Slow motion footfalls.
oO Hide! Oo
The face in the suit stared at him through the glare of visor.
oO Ghela? Oo
The face changed.
oO Lara? Oo
Transporter light. Shimmering. Gone. Empty suit. Silver drape, humanoid shape, nothing inside.
The smell of burning wood. Crackle and spit of embers. Dust fell upon the transparent Aluminum floor.
Ushaan-tor blade in his hand. Plunged into the silver draped empty humanoid shape.
oO Chakar thera’vel N’dari… Oo
Blood welled up inside the suit….
oO Ven N’dar… Oo
…filling it to the visor…
oO Chakar eketh’mar’vel Lun’Andoria… Oo
…and to the very top.
oO Ghelni zarn chakar’del. Oo
Blortch! The silver draped suit burst… Everything was blood.
//THO’BI DREAM ENDS//
((Ensign Tho’Bi's Quarters, Compartment 99, Section 7, Deck 5, USS Artemis))
The Ensign woke. It was dark in his cramped quarters. A dull electric blue glow languished in the tiny bathroom. And beyond the small porthole, the elongated cylinder and mushroom top of Deep Space 224 sparkled, a city of tiny lights, adrift in the Badlands.
TAG/End of Scene for Tho’Bi
((OOC: This explicitly ends Tho’Bi's Conference Room Sim. It also directly links into, “Allow Me to Introduce Myself. I am Your Mother”. Q-Purrnicus bit done with Becky's permission.
Andorian:
‘Lara’ means mother. ‘Ghela’ means Father.
Chakar thera’vel N’dari,
Ven N’dar,
Chakar eketh’mar’vel Lun’Andoria,
Ghelni zarn chakar’del.
Translates as:
War brings horror to all worlds,
But not our world,
For war was born on the moon of Andoria,
And we Andorians were forged in it.
