(( Corridor to Chief Tactical Officer's office – Deck 8, Artemis-A ))

Ensign Bergmen wrestled with a stack of PADDs that kept slipping as he walked down the corridor on Deck 8. Ollie had envisioned numerous scenarios for his inaugural assignment on the Artemis, but nothing in his wildest dreams had prepared him for this.

One of the PADDs from the middle of the stack slipped and tumbled to the ground. The ensign made a nearly comical attempt to save the others, who seemed eager to join their fallen comrade. If there was ever a moment that could be labeled as a failure, it was this one. Ollie stooped to pick them up and organized them based on the tasks he had been assigned.

Bergmen: Cargo hold duty roster… Acquisition and loading order for tactical, yea… ship review for maintenance…

Bergmen paused at the final PADD and started to read the heading, pondering it with a sense of wonder.

oO Why? Aren’t we in the dock for repairs and complete the class B inspection? Oo

The flickering light above Ollie's head caught his attention, prompting him to look up at the ceiling with a sigh. He then proceeded to open the inspection list, locate the corridor, and jot down the issue under the deck 8 list.

After deactivating the PADD again, he gathered the remaining tablets and propped them against his chest, hoping they would be more secure this way. He couldn't fathom how the officers he served under managed it, but he figured it was probably something only a comprehensive Academy education could impart. As he rose to his feet, his doubts were validated when the PADD against his chest started gliding over the smooth satin of his uniform.

Ollie barely managed to catch him and proceeded down the corridor, aiming to reach the CTO's office before the situation escalated any further.

Ensign Bergmen came to a halt in front of the door and promptly rang the doorbell before his PADDs could cause any more trouble.

Silveira: Response

Ollie quickly entered and then made his way to the closest chair, where he placed his stack of PADDs. As he did so, he gave the lieutenant an apologetic look.

Bergmen: I’m so sorry, sir. I have many tasks to handle for operations, and the time for the ship's departure is getting shorter by the minute, so there is a lot that needs to be reviewed and clarified…

Ensign swiftly scanned the PADDs on the chair and selected one.

Bergmen: Let me start again. Good afternoon, sir. Ensign Bergmen, Operations. I’m here to clarify your request for additional space in cargo bay for your department and that slot you requested for resupply…

Silveira: Response

Ollie handed over the PADD to the lieutenant to jog his memory.

Bergmen: As per the schedule, we can accommodate you for the late slot tomorrow at 23:00 ZULU. It's important for someone from your team to be present for handover and supervision since these are ADR items, according to the manifest. About that space in cargo hold, it’s a little more difficult, sir. You will be required to fill out a new form that we just received from Operations Command. ::looks apologetic:: I apologize, sir. I'm here to assist you if you need help.

Silveira: Response
