Jaseb looked over at the chronometer on the wall display, then shifted his eyes to the task list on his PADD. He sighed inwardly, knowing that he was in for a long day. The list was packed with assignments, and he could already feel the weight of his punishment bearing down on him.
He knew that he couldn't afford to procrastinate or take any shortcuts. If he wanted to avoid being overwhelmed by the end of the week, he needed to start chipping away at the tasks right away, even if it meant sacrificing his own time off. He couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as he imagined the workload that awaited him tomorrow. But there was no use dwelling on that now. He needed to focus on the present and get things done, one item at a time.
Chevalier: ::whispers for himself:: Update the sickbay analytics protocols…. Uff…
oO Excellent, at least one task after which I will not need a shower or chiropractor… Oo
Chevalier stood outside the sickbay door, his eyes fixed on the caduceus. He felt a knot in his stomach as he thought about the update that would take the sickbay offline for a few minutes. He hoped the room wouldn't be packed, as he knew that delaying the task would only worsen things later. As he pondered his options, he already knew he had to enter.
He took a deep breath, put on his smile mask, and entered.

As the door to the infirmary creaked open, a ray of light from the corridor illuminated the dimly lit room. Jaseb's heart skipped a beat as he prepared himself for the worst, but upon looking inside, he breathed a deep sigh of relief. The Sickbay was empty, with no patients in sight.
As Jaseb walked towards the cubicle where the attending physician and nurse had their offices, he politely knocked on the door frame and leaned forward to peer inside. Ensign was expecting to see the commander, but to his surprise, Lieutenant Sadar was sitting at the computer instead. Chevalier couldn't help but think it was fortunate for him to have caught the Lieutenant and not Adea - especially after… yeah.
Chevalier: Good afternoon, Lieutenant. I’m here to update and patch your biobed systems. ::shows his PADD:: I will need to put them offline for a few minutes, but after that, they will work like new!
Sadar: Response
Jaseb smiled warmly and nodded in agreement with Gila.
Chevalier: Don't worry, doctor. It will be done before you know it.

(Fifteen minutes later)
As the day wore on, Jaseb anticipated performing a complete reinstallation of the biobeds, a task that would have been time-consuming and challenging. However, he was pleasantly surprised to find that uploading the update manually was a relatively effortless process.
Feeling content that he could mark another item off his checklist, he made his way back to Lt. Sadar's cubicle and gently knocked on the door frame once more, patiently waiting for the doctor to notice him.
Chevalier: I just wanted to let you know that the update is complete, and the biobeds are back online.
