They say you never forget your first posting. For Tamio, that was certainly true. Their time on the USS Churchill, stationed as a supporting vessel to Zeta Fleet in the Trinity Sector had, in many ways, shaped their continued service in Starfleet, for both better and for worse. For one, it had cut their time as a dedicated Starship pilot short. The memory of a phantom movement lingered at the periphery of their consciousness, and Tamio had to resist the urge to swipe away a tail that was no longer there.

Not just because the time had long since passed for them to be bothered about its absence - they had gone almost ten years without it at this point - but because it would’ve looked daft to the skeleton crew milling about the Bridge for them to be swiping at their behind. A good first impression was key, after all, and given Tamio’s predilection for bold and colorful fashion while off-duty, which meant they currently stood upon the Bridge of a Starfleet flagship dressed in a lime green and dusty yellow jumper, high-heeled chukkas and beige khaki shorts, they weren’t exactly going by unnoticed.

So instead, Tamio just remained where they stood, looking at the helm console with a contemplating look in their eyes. They blinked when they saw the door to the turbolift open from the other side of the Bridge and their felinoid eyes adjusted with interest at the redshirted Ensign who walked onto the Bridge. Once noticed, Tamio raised a hand with a jovial expression.

K'Wara: I thought I’d catch you here if I waited long enough. ::hesitant pause:: You... You do remember me, right? Or this is gonna get awkward real fast.

Meris: Response

Tamio smiled widely at the Ensign as they joined them rather than remain standing at a distance. It hadn’t been that long since Tamio had preceded over Ensign Meris’ final exam, and it was a fun coincidence that Meris, the only one to graduate out of that particular batch of Ensigns, would end up assigned to the very same vessel that Tamio was reassigned to less than a week later. The universe was truly a small place.

K'Wara: It’s good to see you again, Meris. And please, I’m off-duty. Call me Tamio. When did you arrive on the Artemis?

Meris: Response

K'Wara: Have you had time to do a bit of exploring yet? I’ve never served on a Luna class before, so I’ll admit to feeling a bit lost in the shuffle.
