((CMO’s Office, Sickbay, USS Artemis-A))
Genkos had tried a coffee to wake himself up, but found it was far too similar to that disgusting swill Bajorans drank and so had poured it down the waste disposal. He had thought about having the replicator de-replicate it, but that was somehow not as satisfying, so instead he just downed two mugs of uttaberry tea, singeing the sides of his tongue slightly in his haste.
The doors to his office opened at exactly thirty minutes after the call had come through.
Adea: Ah, Ensign Kel. What can I do you for?
Solas coughed, and Genkos could tell the man was a swirl of emotions.
Kel: Well sir, I was just wondering if you could give me a quick evaluation to see if I was fit to return to duty? I’d like to try and get some work done.
Adea: Indeed, indeed. Well, sit down and I’ll give you a scan.
Kel: Thank you, sir.
Genkos pulled the tricorder out of his desk drawer. He snapped it open and pulled out the doohickey that did the scanning. As he ran the device over his patient, he performed the standard verbal examination at the same time.
Adea: Anything to report, any aches, pains, odd fluids?
Solas took a moment to think.
Kel: No obvious physical problems to report sir. A bruise from where Lieutenant Savel stunned me and maybe some others here are there but nothing else to report. At least, not that I know of.
Genkos nodded, that made sense. He did take a quick look at the bruises, but they were nothing to write home about. He made a note to run a regenerator over them before Solas left his office.
Adea: Indeed, I can take care of those before you go. And what about emotionally - I saw that you were assimilated; is that affecting you?
Kel: Well, no sir. I don’t remember anything after the assimilation was complete. Savel hitting me was the last thing I remember. So asides from his shot I can’t remember any other erm….damage I might have taken during the incident. Is that unusual?
Genkos paused his scanning for a moment; he’d heard a variety of stories from the various survivors. Some remembered every minute, some only had a hideous highlights reel, but he’d not known anyone to completely block it out, albeit he hadn’t read the reports of every single assimilation survivor.
Adea: A little, I must admit. You don’t remember any of it?
Kel: Response
Adea: I understand. I’m still going to recommend you make an appointment for a session with Jashkaa or any of our other counsellors. You’ve been through an ordeal, even if you don’t remember it, and amnesia can leave scars all the same.
Kel: Response

You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
