((Main Sickbay, Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))

Genkos resisted the urge to look down at the PADD containing Salkath’s file because he didn’t want to know how old the Vulcan was - he wanted to make an educated guess based on the amount of service he’d done.

Adea: So you’ve served on a lot of ships then?

Salkath: If you include my service for the Vulcan High Command, then the Artemis is my fifth ship.

Genkos wondered why the Vulcan had swapped from the High Command and into Starfleet - there were a multitude of possible reasons, the Betazoid couldn’t guess just from his limited knowledge.

Adea: You’ve moved around a lot then?

Salkath: As you know, we serve where we are asked or needed. I do respect those officers with the fortitude and opportunity to serve the majority or entirety of their careers in one location, but that is not always an option.

Genkos nodded at that - it was very true - although some might like to serve on one ship for a long period of time, others might get bored easily. However, it wasn’t always up to the officer, but the needs of the fleet at large.

Adea: I understand entirely.

Salkath: Can I assume from your demeanour that you have a lengthy list of commissions as well?

Genkos felt the Vulcan’s eyes upon his cane, and his grip on it tightened for a moment, but when he spoke, it was with a light, airy tone.

Adea: I am also on my fifth ship, although the last three have been a continuous service with the same crew - we moved from the Resolution when it blew up, and most of us shifted here from the Excalibur when their mission brief was shifted.

Salkath: Response

Genkos nodded - the Resolution blowing up fell at his own feet as it was under his command at the time. How he managed to then get promoted to Commander, he had no idea.

Adea: And yourself, have your commission changes been voluntary or necessary?

Salkath: Response

Chief Medical Officer

USS Artemis-A

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
