((Taste of the Quadrants – Deck 229, Deep Space 224))

Natasha and Sam had just arrived at what could easily be described as an amalgamation of multiple different cultures thrown together and left to see what drew people in. It was most definitely a statement, what that statement was meant to say, time would tell.

Cole: This ::beat:: isn’t what I expected.

Richards: Me either. ::Shrugging:: Seems interesting enough.

Natasha turned in time to see the Captain walk up. She offered a smile, as did Sam.

MacKenzie: Well, this is certainly something, isn’t it?

Richards: Yeah, ::glancing around:: It sure is.

Cole: If the food is as diverse as their outside decor, we’re in for a treat.

MacKenzie: I never turn down an invitation to try a new restaurant. It seems… eclectic.

Richards: Thanks for joining us. ::Smirking:: It’s fun to see you outside of the work environment.

Cole: With the chaos recently, ::Smiling:: we thought a bite to eat at a new restaurant would be fun.

As the trio entered they were met with even more smells of the medley of dishes that were being served. Combined with the additional colorful lanterns inside even dimly lit it was a welcoming environment. The Captain spotted a booth in the corner and waved for Sam and Nat to follow.

After they were seated, the Captain tested the bench with a few bounce while Natasha settled in. Looking at the menu, it almost felt endless. She was admittedly starving.

MacKenzie: Anything catch your eye?

Richards: Honestly, it all sounds good. I do keep eyeing the Oskoid Salad. ::Letting out a breathy laugh:: I had no idea being pregnant with Betazoids would make me crave Betazoid food.

Sam had ordered something and passed the kiosk around. Natasha was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of options.

Cole: I’m admittedly starving, and there are loads of options, but I’m sure I can narrow it down. The Talaxian spice stew sounds interesting.

Richards: Captain- uh, MacKenzie, Captain MacKenzie. ::Raising her eyebrow:: What do we call you in a less ::gesturing around:: formal setting?

Natasha was wondering that as well, thankfully Sam broke the ice on that topic. She knew the expectations of addressing officers while on duty, but off duty wasn’t something that was ever really addressed. At least not when it came to “the Commander’s” lessons growing up.

Cole: I was wondering that myself- uh, Sir.

MacKenzie: Response

She listened while still sorting out what she wanted.

Richards: You got it. Anyway, I heard through the grapevine that this place serves an excellent Hasperat. I also heard– through a different grapevine– that you are a big fan of Hasperat.

MacKenzie: Response

Natasha looked between the two. She enjoyed the gossip, even if it was just about dishes one might prefer.

Cole: Oh that sounds amazing, I think I might try that and that Talaxian dish.

She placed her order and placed the ordering kiosk back on the table.

Richards: So, you two have any fun plans for this shoreleave?

MacKenzie: Response

Cole: I honestly don’t know. I was thinking of exploring the station, but outside of that I was probably doing some tinkering. As long as my roommate doesn’t … overshare themself.

MacKenzie/Richards: Response

Natasha could feel their eyes waiting for her to explain.

Cole: As you may know my roommate is Ensign Tho’Bi. And well I have quickly discovered that Andorians are more ::beat:: free spirited in how they dress ::clears throat:: or don’t, when in their quarters.

MacKenzie/Richards: Response

Cole: It’s not the first time I’ve seen a nude male body. Comes with… ::smirk:: previous experience.

MacKenzie/Richards: Response

TAG/TBC!
