(( Elysium – Deck 6, USS Artemis ))

With questions about her latest exploits - or the latest attempts the universe was taking to get her - Kali spoke to the latest discovery in the nearly uncharted Atrian Reaches. The USS Eagle called the sector home at least for the next year or so while the Federation established a foothold in the area, and in many ways it reminded her of her time on the Resolution and of the Borderlands.

Nicholotti: We found a zoo planet. Literally humans from every time period imaginable, all in their own 'exhibits'. Whoever set it up left a long time ago, and the barriers began to fail. That's when the SOS got out.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Genkos' eyebrow rise.

MacKenzie: That sounds awful.

Almost immediately, his expression changed, causing her to look over at him with some hidden amusement. He could tell, given how open her mind was to him, but few others could.

Adea: Yes, totally.

Nicholotti: It was interesting to be sure. Got to meet a real caveman.

Kali chuckled remembering the prehistoric human who had called himself 'Longfoot'. At least that was what the universal translator had translated it to.

MacKenzie: Are you at least enjoying the new boat for now? I’m sure the thing has to be easier to parallel park than the Excal…

Adea: Does it have that new ship smell?

Looking at both of them she couldn't help but smile and shake her head.

Nicholotti: It's very used, and smells of past missions. Didn't have time to get it detailed before we took her out. ::looking to Addison.:: And would you believe that parking it is far more trouble than it's worth. Totally going to just do orbits from now on.

While they had escaped the planet, it hadn't been easy.

MacKenzie: Responses?

Adea: It’s weird to think - before I met the pair of you on the Res, I had only served on the Gorkon… Whereas you both had very varied careers. ::taking a sip:: Not that the Gorkon wasn’t varied…

Now it was Kali's turn to raise an eyebrow. It was funny how roads would run along various ways until one day converging into a massive mess of a team that totally killed it for some years together. It really had been something, that had bloomed into some of the longest standing friendships - and more - that she'd ever had the opportunity to experience.

And she hadn't even had to die again.

Nicholotti: And you think you know all about a person's history...

MacKenzie/Adea: Responses?

Kali shook her head.

Nicholotti: I still think some of my favorite stories are from the Resolution. Some are from when I wore that green collar as a second lieutenant, but far more are from our escapades.

MacKenzie/Adea: Responses?

Sipping the rest of the wine in her glass, she set it on the table and rested her hand on Genkos' leg next to her.

Nicholotti: Remember when they just told us all to be aboard and get on with it, without ever having properly met?

She grinned.

Nicholotti: Now look at us.

MacKenzie/Adea: Responses?
