((Sickbay - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))
Genkos’ soft smile broadened slightly as he nodded; it was a good point. Perhaps he was just sensitive to this sort of thing as a Betazoid, or perhaps he could sometimes take things a little more personally than they were intended; either way, it wasn’t personal.
Adea: That’s a fair point; ::he pursed his lips in a wry expression of amusement:: and if the Captain doesn’t like you, I’m sure you’ll find your way to the airlock soon enough.
Zoyara's eyes widened for a moment, seemingly unsure if he was joking.
Vailani: I'm hoping it won't come to that. I had read in the reports about an ensign? Lost in an airlock? Some kind of unexplained accident?
Adea: Honestly, one bizarre malfunction and a whole host of rumours get started.
Vailani: ::joke:: I'm sure he deserved it.
Genkos let out a bark of a laugh - he kinda did deserve it.
Vailani: Sorry, I don't know why I said that.
Adea: Not to worry, you’re not wrong.
She slid her short legs to the side of the biobed and hopped down. Clearly the joke had been the final straw in her resolve to stay in Sickbay.
Vailani: I have some work I need to do before the Captain's dinner on Risa. If we're finished, doctor?
Adea: We are - take care, Lieutenant. I’ll see you down there.
And with that Vailani fled from Sickbay. Genkos shook his head softly and retreated back to his office.

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
