(( Holodeck 3, Deck 222, DS 224 ))
Light flicker. Console pulse. Walking wounded.
In the strobe and the creeping panic, the Engineer spied a Jefferies Tube.
Tho’Bi: ::to Storm:: =/\= The Jefferies Tube leads directly to main Engineering ::beat:: But it also takes us directly under the Warp Reactor ::beat:: It’s going to be hot. =/\=
The Lieutenant tapped the Engineer on the shoulder and then turned to face Meris and Bancroft.
Storm: =/\= We’re going to take the Jefferies tube as quickly as we can. It’s hot, but we also need to be careful that we don’t tear our suits. Tho’Bi, you take the front and I will bring up the rear. Quickly, but cautiously. Everyone got it? =/\=
Meris: ::nodding:: =/\= Aye, Lieutenant. =/\=
Bancroft: Response.
The Helms Officer snapped open the lock of the Jefferies Tube hatch. Shunt! The hatch opened up.
Storm: =/\= Let’s go, Ensign. You lead the way. Bancroft, you next. Meris, you’re in front of me. =/\=
The Engineer stowed his Engineering Tricorder in a snug of adaptive foam on his torso.
Tho'Bi: ::to Storm:: =/\= Aye, Aye.=/\=
Despite his one meter ninety centimeter frame, the Deep Space Station born Andorian clambered into the Jefferies Tube with well-practiced ease. Hands to knees to feet, he began crawling his way down the narrow tube.
Bancroft: Response
Meris: =/\= Aye, Lieutenant. =/\=
The Andorian’s antennae could sense the clamber of hands, knees and feet behind him.
Layers of heat upon heat upon heat built up upon the Damage Control Team.
Storm: =/\= How we doing up there? Everybody sound off. =/\=
Meris: =/\= Meris. Still good. =/\=
Tho'Bi: =/\= Nine minutes =/\=
Bancroft: Response.
Relays and routing for secondary systems, less hardened than their primary system counterparts, started to spit and crackle as seals perished in the heat.
Storm: ::to Tho’Bi:: =/\= Any idea how much further, Ensign? =/\= ::to everyone:: =/\= I can imagine it’s getting harder to see with all the sweat. Let’s keep focused. =/\=
Tho'Bi: ::to Storm:: =/\= There's a junction up ahead ::coms static:: -ake the ladder up one level to Eng- ::coms static:: -ation is affecting coms. Do y- ::coms static:: -nant? =/\=

Bancroft/Meris: Response
Corners in Jefferies Tubes were at right angles. Something tweaked his antennae as he righted the angle, something impossible, ice.
Tho'Bi: =/\= Hold up =/\=
The Andorian extracted the Engineering Tricorder from its snug. It chirped and beeped at him as his blue fingers danced over the controls.
oO Thullex! Oo
The access hatch to the junction was frozen solid. Where heat met cold, blistering clouds of hot water vapor blossomed outwards filling the Jefferies Tube. Water droplets clung to the railings beneath his hands, knees and feet.
Tho'Bi: ::to Storm:: =/\= ::coms static:: -atch is fro- ::coms static:: -eat. The hatch is frozen. The coo- ::coms static:: leaked in- ::coms static:: -tion. Re- ::coms static:: coolant ::coms static:: into the junction. =/\=
Storm: Response
The Engineer ran through schematics in his head. There was a way, but it was a tight squeeze. Too tight for him.
Tho'Bi: =/\= Two meters back th- ::coms static:: vent system ::coms static:: -eat Emergency Coolant ::coms static:: access pan- ::coms static:: -lant chamber shou- ::coms static:: -ty. Repeat coolant cha- ::coms static:: empty. =/\=
This was not an easy procedure on clean coms. The Andorian had no idea if Lieutenant Storm could follow him or not, but still he pressed on.
Tho'Bi: =/\= At the ::coms static:: chamber there is a sec- ::coms static:: Engineering. Repe- ::coms static:: top of th- ::coms static:: second access pan- ::coms static:: directly to Engin- ::coms static:: =/\=
Golden sparks blew across his face as a secondary power relay fried in the steam and the damp. A thin jagged crack spidered out across his visor. The visor held up, for now.
Tho'Bi: =/\= It’s a ti- ::coms static:: Meris could? Re- ::coms static:: -ight fit, but maybe Ensig- ::coms static:: Copy?
