Jashkaa smiled and nodded, waving one hand to the reclining couch whilst receiving a PADD from Gila with the other.
Jashkaa: How did you find them, Gila? Were they easy to complete?
She scanned the PADD for a moment, before placing it gently on her desk and turning to face her patient. She crossed her legs and sat forward, her hands folded in her lap. She could see from Gila’s face that the woman was having thoughts of leaving. The slight blanching around the jawline gave it away… well that and the fact it was Gila’s resting state.
Sadar: They were. I, uhh, I gather that most of the forms related to being held captive by a hostile force presume a certain, mmh, ‘length of captivity’? Thankfully, such was not the case for me and the others, but it did render some of the questions... Moot?
Jashkaa: I see. Well that makes sense. And this survey - there are plenty of doctors aboard, why does it “need” to be you?
That question clearly stumped Gila for a moment. She was probably trying to think of a response that didn’t include the word “need”.
Sadar: I-It’s, uhhh... W-Well, the survey is going to gather biological material for one of my research projects, and I’m the one who’s been in communication with the other departments to put together a suitable team? ::consider:: I-I mean, I suppose someone else could do it instead, but it just seems, uhh... ::winces:: More logical for it to be me?
Jashkaa pursed her lips, inclined her head and made a note in her own PADD. That was her default response to such a retort.
Jashkaa: I see. Spending your shore leave doing research, are we?
Gila twisted her anxiety ring once, and again Jashkaa pursed her lips, raising a perfectly curated eyebrow to elicit a response.
Sadar: I don’t- I mean, I like working. It’s really not a lot more than that.
Jashkaa nodded and made another note on her PADD. That had been the response she had predicted, but not the one she had hoped for.
Jashkaa: But you don’t enjoy relaxing?
Sadar: Response
Jashkaa crossed and re-crossed her legs, her long green fingers making another note on the PADD in front of her.
Jashkaa: Well then, Gila, tell me - what’s your ideal shore leave?
Sadar: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
