Lieutenant Hallia Yellir - Straight to The Point

((Sickbay, Deck 07 — USS Artemis-A))

Stepping away from PADDwork, Hallia had been long overdue for a checkup. She had put it off ever since becoming full Lieutenant— partially refusing because she simply found herself heaping on more and more tasks. Unfortunately for Hallia— even as a former officer in the medical field she was no longer qualified to do her own physicals, even if it was just a simple once over with a medical tricorder. But even then, it made even less sense to her why it seemed to slip to the back of her mind so often.

Hallia knew the drill like the back of her hand, go in, sit down on the biobed, tell the doctor about any abnormalities and after a few scans they were good to go. The few tidbits of training that truly stuck to her mind from those days were taking and relaying a patient’s vital signs, and she knew physicals weren’t much more invasive in the age of the tricorder. It had been a very long time since she had made any rounds in the rehab of patients, but it was almost nostalgic stepping back into sickbay. 

The lights blazed downwards with a sterile whiteness to them and the absence of the scent in sickbay were hallmarks of working in a Starship’s medical facility. While she did tend to miss the parts of the job, the routines she no longer had— Hallia couldn’t help but find herself a bit happier with where she ended up. An unlikely career path, sure. But, she enjoyed the idea of not needing to feed people anymore or change soiled biobed sheets.

Hallia stood in the entryway of sickbay, looking around for an officer before flagging down the hood of a familiar Mizarian.

Yellir: Oh, Ensign Sadar, it's good to see you!

Sadar: Response?

Yellir: If its not too busy here already— I was wondering if I could get a once over? I haven’t been for a physical since my last promotion ::chuckling::.

Sadar: Response?
