(( Hallway to holodecks, Commercial district, Deck 222, DS 224 ))
Chief Ral was reviewing the personal profiles of the training candidates one by one. This group… this was promising. Their skills and occupational specialties will make this interesting.
Ral looked up to the entrance to the renowned Holodeck 3. When she found they would dock there, she knew she couldn’t miss the opportunity. With a smile on her face, she turned to Chief Kaz'Orah and nodded as she noticed their third trainer.
The young ensign approached the pair and stood at attention.
Bergmen: Ensign Bermen, at your request, ma’am.
Ral nodded and handled him a PADD.
Ral: At ease, ensign. You are an officer now. Act like that. ::turns to Kaz'Orah:: We're complete with him. We can go.
Ensign Bergmen was reviewing the instructions on the PADD given by the Chief. What was written on it, along with the attached forms, didn't make much sense to him. She could expect him to…
Bergmen: Ma’am? May I have a question? I thought I should take part in the training, not… ::looks into PADD once again:: Evaluate others.
Chief stopped and turned to the still-standing, confused Ensign with a smile. She stepped closer and placed her hand on his shoulder.
Ral: I needed an OPS officer, and you were available. ::looks into his eyes:: And you don’t need this training, Ensign. You have already lived through it. Let’s go.
(( Holodeck 3, Deck 222, DS 224 ))
When the trio entered, the trainees were already there.
oO A small plus for punctuality. Oo
Chief made an internal dash and, together with her colleagues, stepped forward to face the trainees waiting. She liked the program when she discovered it in the training folder of Artemis’ computer core, especially when she read reports and evaluations from Commander Yalu.
And there’s no need to change what’s already proven to work.
Ral: ::nods everyone in turn:: Welcome everyone.

Ral: I’m Senior Chief Ral Shaw, the lead evaluator of this exercise. Thank you for signing up for this training and traveling here on Deep Space 224; your participation is greatly appreciated.
Ral observed their faces during the moment of silence. She had read their service records. She knew what to expect from them. However, she also knew that in scenarios like the one they would face, there could be no expectations. You could be an officer with the best evaluations ever or catastrophe walking... it didn't matter. When it comes to life or death situations, you always reveal your true selves.
Ral: What we will drill this afternoon is something that I would not wish to anybody, yet it is a part of our duty as members of Starfleet. ::beat:: But if you do, you will want to be ready. Let’s begin.
Chief tapped her combadge twice, and a holodeck activated into the sickbay, which they all knew so closely.
Frozen in time, the sickbay was still empty; only red alert flashing on the monitors all around them foretelling what was to come.
Ral: We are in a faithful reconstruction of Artemis' sickbay. The ship has suffered irreversible damage, and the captain has declared orders to abandon the ship. This is where this exercise will begin. You have five minutes to evacuate yourself and as many others as possible to the lifeboats from this sickbay. ::pauses for a moment:: You may have questions... I know. The answer is - this is an emergency drill. Act like that. Think about what you will do, and what has a priority to do first.
Chief stepped one step back and taped her combadge.
Ral: Computer, start the simulation.
Chief disappeared where she stood, altogether with Kaz'Orah and Bergmen.
The floor underneath shook. A siren screamed from a nearby corridor, as did on the sickbay itself. All the biobeds were occupied, and some even hosted two persons simultaneously. Across the room, a cupboard with a biohazard sign, full of science experiments, began to fall, and broken vials spilled their contents onto the floor.
