to USS Artemis-A – StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG
((USS Artemis, deck 2, Holodeck 1))
Vitor was showing the Arcades of the Arcade to Nan. He walked around showing the one he thought would be the Captains favorite.
He smiled as he turned the wheel of the racing simulator as he wicked at Nan.
Vitor turned and began to walk to the Arcade that had a pair of rifles on it, as he did he turned to Nan pointing to the flight simulator.
Silveira: That one is for Al… You know our Ops/Helm officer. I am sure it's right up her alley. Now this… This is a little of a joke for someone.
He stopped by the duck hunt arcade.
Nan looked like she was trying to decipher something and her eyebrows rose up.
Jovenan: A “duck hunt”? Who is this for?
Vitor smiled and took out the arcade rifle, pointing it at the screen, but still looking at Nan.
His mischievous grin had replaced momentarily the stamped wide smile that being with Nan he had, almost constantly plastered on his lips.
Silveira: Have you read the last mission reports? Of all people I didn’t expect Salkath to be the one shooting Meirashi wildlife. So here he can shoot… At least some ducks. ::He winked at Nan.:: I am pretty sure he will be a good sport and appreciate the joke.
Nan opened her mouth, but smiling and laughing.
Jovenan: I hope he does!
Vitor smiled and placed the rifle back at the Arcade holster as Nan walked around looking at the Arcades before turning back to him and raised her arms a little to her sides.
Jovenan: Vitor, this place is amazing! Do you know how all these games work? Have you played them all?
Vitor nodded proudly. He was so glad that Nan was interested in his little surprise. And appreciated his work.
Silveira: Yes. The reason why I still haven’t put up proper walls, and this is all chaotically distributed here is because I ended up playing them all. I even got in the high score tables of most of them. The idea is to have a proper building and enough room for people to play these, and other games. Spend a good time, relax a little.
Nan kept walking between the consoles, stopping in front of one that caught her attention. Vitor stepped closer to her.
Jovenan: Is this also for someone specific in mind?
Vitor grinned and he shook his head sideways. The first three arcades were a given, he hadn’t needed to think it out much, they came naturally. Others were harder, but aside from the bloody one for Genkos he thought he had a few good choices.
Well, except perhaps for the new officers on the ship. He wasn’t quite sure what would be best suited for Ol for example. Although Vitor thought he could enjoy Super Mario
He shrugged and opened his arms as he walked closer to Nan.
Silveira: I might not have gotten all of them right. But I gave it a good thought. I think there is always something suited for all.
Nan nodded along as he spoke, she turned to face him eventually.
Jovenan: Is there a game for me, too?
Vitor smiled. He had hoped he got it right. It was the cutest of all games, at least in his opinion.
Maybe it was time to find out.
Silveira: Of course. How could I not think of you… ::Realizing that was likely a little too much he tried to get back on track.:: I think it suits you and…
He stepped closer and looked at her. Not resisting any further, smiled and reached for her hand. The second they touched he felt as if he received a boost of energy, her soft hand in his.
Vitor tipped his hand, squeezing Nan's hand.
Silveira: Let me show you
Jovenan: Response
He led her around the Virtua Cop arcade, for a second he wished he had the arcades further away from each other, so he could keep holding hands with Nan.
Vitor stopped smiling at Nan and with his free hand raised it to the Arcade next to them.
He wasn’t still sure how it was really called, apparently it was known as both Puzzle Bubble or Bust a Move.
Silveira: This reminds of you.
Jovenan: Response
He was still holding her hand as he explained. The Arcade was on the usual demo screen, signaling it was waiting for players. Vitor looked at Nan, feeling her hand in his.
Silveira: To me this has always been the cutest arcade I ever played. It's a cozy game, nice, endearing and addictive, both the music as the gameplay. It has a story I am still trying to figure out. But it’s unforgiving if you underestimate it. Much stronger than at first looks… ::he tipped his head sideways:: Much like you. ::he opened his mouth but quickly shut it before looking back at the arcade screen.:: Want to try it?
He was trying to avoid any more awkward moments, but he still held her hand in his.
Jovenan: Response
