to USS Artemis-A – StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG
((The Sadar-Aqila Quarters - Compartment 83, Sector 03, Deck 6, USS Artemis-A ))
Vitor smiled at Nan, and then at Sada before taking another spoon and enjoying the entree.
Sada really got it right. And the… What was it called? Well the wine, that tasted like milk did blend nicely. However he wasn’t sure if, with the major course, it might tamper the tasting.
Silveira: That’s good. And again thank you my friend. From the appetizer I am foreseeing an excellently exquisite meal.
Jovenan: I believe we’re in for a treat with the rest of the meal!
Sadar: Quite... ::narrows her eyes:: L-Lieutenant Commander, Sil-net, I-I don’t mean to be pry, but... I-Is everything quite as it’s meant to be?
Sada’s question got him by surprised, and now it was him that almost spilled his food. Coughing he set the spoon down and raised his thumb, signaling he was alright
Jovenan: Are you alright? Did you get food stuck in your throat?
He nodded before replying.
Silveira: I am fine, I was just surprised. It's OK. I am good. ::He tipped his head to Sada:: Why are you asking Sada?
Sadar: W-Well, i-it’s just... I-I’ve never known you to call each other by ‘honey’ and ‘sweetie’ before?
Vitor opened his mouth, quickly closing it and looking at Nan. He smiled and shrugged.
Silveira: Well… It’s a new thing… ::Leaning forward and reaching for Nan’s hand.:: Maybe we should tell Sada…
Nan smiled and shrugged in reply, cutely blushing slightly.
Jovenan: ::taking Silveira’s hand:: I think that’s what we agreed. It’s only fair.
She turned to Sada, pausing. Likely Nan was thinking on how to tell their friend.
Jovenan: We, uh, we’ve started dating.
Sadar: … D-Dating?
Vitor smiled proudly and nodded. He squeezed Nan’s hand gently.
Silveira: It’s something that took its course and, honestly, with all we've been through it ended up happening naturally. As that old expression goes “The heart has reasons that reason itself does not know”.
Jovenan: It felt the right decision in the end.
Sadar: Dating!?
It felt nice to openly hold Nan’s hand. They weren’t making a big secret of it, but it was also nice that the first person that they shared the news with was Sada.
Even if their friend looked a mix of surprised and shocked.
Silveira: I admit I wasn’t the most discreet with my feelings. I am surprised you only now noticed something.
Nan laughed a little.
Jovenan: Apparently, we were obvious to some other crewmembers long before we decided to start dating. The Captain even tried to set us up for a date together. She did succeed too, so I suppose we should thank her.
Vitor smiled and rolled his eyes. He was certainly guessing that Zie would tell just by seeing them together.
Silveira: I will think about it.
Sada had a look between curiosity and concern before she asked her question.
Sadar: H-How long?
Jovenan: We only, um, formalized our relationship a few days ago, but you could say that it has been a long time coming. ::looks at Silveira:: I guess it became harder to hide my feelings by the Frontier Day, but I felt too unready to start a relationship at that time.
Vitor nodded, smiling gently at Nan. If it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t have reacted. It was seeing her in danger that prompted him to move, and save her again, later in the corridors.
But really having them sort things in Zie’s place and waiting to talk, had also been important.
They took the time they needed, and it happened.
Silveira: It took us… The time we needed, even if we didn’t knew when it was.
Nan turned back to Sada.
Jovenan: I’m sorry, Doctor, I hope this news doesn’t change the dinner plans. We considered telling you later, in case you had something else important, but there was no reason to deny it after you asked about it.
Sadar: Oh! Uhh, no, absolutely not! I-I’m sorry for asking something so personal of you, Lt. Commander! ::wrings her hands:: I-I didn’t intend-
Silveira: No Sada please… ::he smiled at Nan:: It was our pleasure to share this news with you. I am glad you are the first to know about us.
Jovenan: Response
Vitor wasn’t exactly sure how to read Sada’s expression. But he felt some nervous happiness in her words.
Sadar: C-Congratulations, both of you. I am genuinely overjoyed on your behalf.
Vitor nodded, gently squeezing Nan’s hand.
Silveira: Thank you Sada. You're a good friend.
Jovenan: Response
Sadar: O-Oh, it’s, uhh... I-It’s... W-Well... ::deep breath:: O-On Mizabet, when a close friend intends to start a coupling, it is the duty of their friends and family to perform a, uhh... Well, it’s essentially a, uhh, compatibility evaluation? ::raises her hands:: O-O-Of course, I-I don’t mean to infer in any way that you aren’t compatible, b-but I felt that, uhh... W-Well... ::clears throat::
Vitor arched an eyebrow. At first that sounded a little… And more…
But Sada was their friend, she certainly wouldn’t be suggesting something that he and Nan would be uncomfortable with.
Silveira: I hope that’s a poor translation. ::He looked puzzled at Nan:: I mean… It's a sort of ritual? Or a party?
Jovenan: Response
Vitor leaned forward, still holding Nan’s hand. It felt good to hold her hand, feeling her warmth, even if his attention was in Sada as she spoke.
Sadar: Response
Silveira: Interesting, I would feel very honored by that Sada.
Jovenan/Sadar: Response
Still holding Nan’s hand he looked at her. He shared his opinion, but this would have to be a decision made by the two of them.
Silveira: What do you think, my love?
Jovenan/Sadar: Response
