(( Jaran's Quarters, Deck 5, USS Artemis-A ))
Jira had been standing in the sonic shower for all of about two minutes when they head the chirp of their comm badge over the whine of the shower.
Storm: =/\=Storm to Jaran =/\=
They sighed and stepped out to dig their comm badge out from the pile of discarded uniform on the floor. Fumbling a little, they found it and tapped the delta.
Jaran: =/\= Dr. Jaran. How can I help you, Lieutenant? =/\=
Storm: =/\= Did you mean it when you said you wanted to go with me again to find Cassie?=/\=
So this wasn't business; it was personal. Jira thought back to the conversation over drinks on Ferenginar and how honoured they had felt that Alex would share with them. Of course Jira had meant it. How could they not, for someone so earnest and open?
Jaran: =/\= With my entire pagh. =/\=
Storm: =/\= I have a fairly certain lead on where they are. Care to join me?=/\=
Jaran: =/\= I have nothing but time for you. =/\=
Storm: =/\= Thank you so much! Meet me in my quarters as soon as you can. Pack for a couple of days, but pack light. We need to leave shortly. =/\=
Jaran: =/\= Give me a few minutes, and I'll be on my way. =/\=
Jira looked back at the sonic shower and decided no one would be happy if they didn't at least finish up the basics in there. A five minute shower, a handful of clothes thrown in a bag, and they were out the door.
(( Storm’s Quarters, Deck 4, USS Artemis ))
Jira rang the bell and waited for the invitation.
Storm: Response
Jaran: I got here as quickly as I could without showing up stinky.
Storm: Response
Jira sat down in one of the chairs and put their bag on the floor next to them. Before they could ask anything questions, however, the chime sounded again.
Storm: Response
Natasha Cole entered Alex’s quarters and looked around.
Cole: You said you had a lead. What do we know, and how fast are we moving?
Jira opened their eyes wide and grinned.
Jaran: ::lightly laughing:: You don't waste any time, do you?
Storm: Response.
Natasha set her bag down near the door but didn’t sit. Jira leaned forward in the chair, focused and serious.
Cole: I brought changes of clothes, and my better decisions. The worse ones are available if the situation calls for it.
Jaran: And I brought... well, I brought clothes too. No decisions. Forgot those in my quarters. I'll just have to make them as necessary.
Storm: Response.
The itch to move hit Jira with that statement. They stood up and slung their bag over their shoulder. The time for sitting was over.
Jaran: Any preparation left to do?
Storm/Cole: Response
Jira moved to stand next to Cole. That was when they realised how intimidating the two women were in the room together. And then there was... Jira. Well, maybe that difference would come in handy, too. Jira summoned up all the intensity they could muster to try and match what was in the others' eyes.
Jaran: We're going to get you there, Alex. You can count on that.
Storm/Cole: Response
Then their intensity fizzled out and they were back to plain, simple Jira.
Jaran: Well, we're never going to make any progress if we don't leave this room. Unless she's hiding here somewhere, let's move.
Storm/Cole: Response
