And they were committed, they had the colony coordinates Vitor increased the power and he began making a few adjustments, as the comline finished and they got to learn a little more, but just barely, it was time for action.

Silveira: I got this, but just in case, everyone strap up and keep an eye on the systems.
I managed to make thirty eight landings in forty two.

He could swear Zoy made a face or something, but he ignored her.

Morgan: ::flatly:: Well, I feel relieved.

Imril/Gnai: Response

Vitor grinned. Admittedly he wasn’t as confident as he showed. Atmospheric flight was a hole other beast. And yes a hole, not whole, because you're going down in one, inside a flying brick that has the aerodynamics of a chiseled rock.
At least in his mind, since he was a Tactical Officer, not a pilot.
But now he was likely biting more than he could chew…
Why wasn’t that familiar?

Silveira: In simulations obviously. Still that’s a pretty good average, considering I am not a pilot or helmsman. And if you're wondering how many actual atmospheric landings I did, it’s one. Counting this one…

He noticed the others started to strap up as he suggested and apparently… Was Sada praying?

Sadar: ::obsessive chanting:: “Resist not the turn of the Wheel and let the guidance of the ancestors provide the lessons of the future.”

oO OK I am not that bad of a pilot… But if you put in a good word I won’t mind. Oo

Imril /Gnai: Response

((Timeskip: One almost perfect landing, because any landing you walk out of without damage is perfect, later))
((Outside Water Treatment Plant - Outskirts of the Bantlox Colony, Laoi III))

Vitor took another deep breath. He leaned back and closed his eyes.

oO Next time I ain’t volunteering. We should have brought Al with us, she would have nailed this so much better than me. Oo

His hands were still shaken by the constant tapping and maneuvering of the shuttle.
As soon as they began the planet reentry it was a struggle for Vitor to keep them flying.
OK maybe that was an exaggeration, the flight was rough and unstable, but they were down, nobody got hurt, the shuttle was undamaged.

But his hands hurt after struggling with the turbulence, cross winds, and practically anything else as they crash controlled down to the surface. Luckily nobody got sick and puked, or if they did they already cleaned it up.

Silveira: Any landing we can walk out of is a good one.

Imril//Gnai: Response

They stepped out meeting with the Administrator, Vitor rubbing his hands. He just hoped that taking off was going  to be easier than landing.

Sadar: Administrator Bim Pend? I’m Doctor Gila Sadar, and these are my colleagues from the USS Artemis-A.

Bim Pend: Yes yes yes, good to meet you, follow me.

Vitor raised an eyebrow and shrugged following the Administrator and his people, like the others.

Vailani: Adminstrator do you still use the same water source from the original landing site? You've never upgraded your water system before now?

They were led through a complicated network of criss crossing differently coloured pipes.

Morgan: This is quite an impressive network, Administrator…

Imril/Gnai: Response

Bim Pend: Just standard expansion, digging out room for some new pipes, getting room for the extra compartment. Only, a bloody ship wing was in the way of our new piping.

Vitor couldn’t help but wonder how said ship got there.

Silveira: Must be a big ship.

Bim Pend: It’s mostly still underground, but evidently, we’ve uncovered enough for whatever’s still active in there to wreak havoc on our plant. Ever since we found the darn thing, our computers have been on the fritz, messing with the composition of our water.

Sadar: Anything that’s led to health hazards for any of your colonists so far?

Bim Pend: Not yet, but it’s just a matter of time. Hence why we need you Starfleet-types to figure out how we deal with this.

They turned a corner and  next to the water plan, in the place that Vitor assumed they were digging, there was a wing, kind of reminding him of a shark’s fin raising from below the water.

Vailani: :: dumbfounded :: That's the wing of a Jem'Hadar attack ship. It must have been scouting the area …

Morgan: But how did it get here without anyone knowing? And what happened to the crew?

Vitor looked around and regretted not bringing a phaser with him.

Silveira: Gone by now, that thing must be here for what? Twenty eight years if I am not mistaken.

Imril/Gnai/Sadar: Response

Bim Pend: Response

Vailani: Wouldn't a planetary survey have detected this?

Morgan: I would think anyone with the technology to get a message to us would have been able to track this. Or, ya know, anyone looking up at the sky would have seen it…

Silveira: If it crashed and natured got its way with it I think it's possible for it to be undetected.

Imril /Gnai/Sadar: Response

Bim Pend: Response

They began to make their way closer to the wreckage. It was clear that this was stalling the new colony piping.

Vailani: :: to Gila :: Securing the computer database should be a priority once we've made it safe for the colonists and ourselves.

Morgan: Might be safe to assume there won’t be much need for a medical officer. At least, hopefully not.

Vitor shook his head and took a few steps forward.

Silveira: No Doc, at least not yet.

Imril/Gnai/Sadar: Response

Bim Pend: Response

Morgan looked to the others.

Morgan: Any way to tell how long this ship has been here? Or its service history?

Silveira: That last one might be too early to know. Only if we salvage some of its database.

Vailani/Imril/Gnai/Morgan/Sadar: Response

Vitor looked around the hole, he wasn’t an engineer but he wasn’t feeling very safe.

Silveira: OK so it’s up to us now. So to me we got two options.
One we should secure the hole and check out the ship. ::He tipped his head to Zoy:: We can try and get it database, learn more about it. We dig a little more around it.

Vailani/Imril/Gnai/Morgan/Sadar: Response

Silveira: Option two, we get everything to a clear distance and start dismantling the ship apart. In whatever way possible, we could blow it up somehow. I think that could be the safest of these options.

Vailani/Imril/Gnai/Morgan/Sadar: Response
