(( Primary Sickbay - Deck 7, USS Artemis-A )) The doctor was wrapping up her examination. Things looked good physically, but Lieutenant Sadar still looked, considering other reasons for the patient's symptoms. If the body was fit, scans clear, and the patient was still complaining about something that was nowhere to be found after a mission caused by an alien omnipotent being moving space, time, and reality with a snap of their fingers, what was left? Sadar: Well, I can start with congratulating you on being completely fit for duty. Chevalier: Ah, really? And I worried I would end with Division 14… ::laugh:: Making jokes, Jaseb attempted to make light of the situation and not dwell on the implications of the lieutenant's words. But that's why I came here: to find out if all this—the pain, injuries, and disturbing sights he had experienced were genuine or the result of his own unraveling sanity. The ensign started to dress up, deemed fit for duty. But the doctor still stood by the biobed, arms crossed, her brow ridges vibrating. She still had more to say. Sadar: That being said, we do need to properly ascertain when these phantom pains manifest, and how best to combat it. ::small pause:: I think it speaks for itself that I recommend scheduling an appointment with the counselor, first of all, but then, I would also like you to continuously monitor your phantoms. What were you doing just before they manifested? What time was it? Ideally, we’d want a predictable pattern to show itself. Chevalier: Ou, yes doctor. I will do. oO Once the Rubicon is crossed, there is no way back or out… Oo Jaseb smiled, being pliant patient, as he buttoned up his service blouse. Sadar: ::accesses a PADD:: I suggest we schedule another appointment in a week or two, and then we can compare notes on what you’ve noted about the regularity of your phantom pains, and any possible pattern you may have noted. And if you had a counselor write their observations into your log before then, it would be preferable. Ensign Chevalier nodded and took his PADD to check his schedule. There was no space for another check-up with sickbay, but things changed. Now he will need to make some. Chevalier: Two weeks from now sounds good, doctor. I will make a block in my calendar, just to be sure. Lieutenant nodded, reflecting only her most professional demeanor in her face. Jaseb took it as a sign the examination was over. Sadar: Anything else, Ensign? Chevalier: No, ma'am. Thank you for your time. Sadar: Excellent. Thank you for the update on the biobeds. Until next time. Chevalier gave a solemn nod before gracefully hopping off the biobed. He swiftly departed from the sickbay, leaving Doctor Sadar to attend to her duties, as he had his own tasks to attend to.
Next station - Deck two, holodeck two, replacement of biofilters. [END SCENE FOR JASEB]
