(( Corfyri Public Park - City One, Rylor ))

After wandering through the crowd for a brief moment, Breys spied the perfect opportunity to divert this back to her interest. It wasn’t that she was uninterested in the other art, but an exhibit of flower arrangements was too enticing to pass up. She walked hurriedly towards fine vases filled with particularly arranged flowers and was immediately hit by a smell that was nearly indescribable. It was hard to pin down exactly what it reminded her of, but the grounds of the academy were buried in the undertones somewhere.

Breys: I think it’s either supposed to smell like learning, or stress. ::she pauses:: Or I don't get it.

Her co-sniffer paused to consider this.

K’Wara: ::considers:: I think ‘learning’ may be a very good descriptor for it. Does the scent remind you of anything in particular?

Breys: I spent a lot of my life studying, so it’s a little muddy, but I can definitely smell different parts of the academy. ::she pauses:: The classrooms, the trees on the grounds.

K’Wara: That makes sense, given how recent that is for you. Did you enjoy yourself?

This was a hard question for Breys. She loved being in Starfleet, and she was thrilled to be accepted to the academy, but in her drive to be successful she worked away most of her time for enjoyment.

Breys: I enjoyed what I had time to. I learned a lot, and gained even more respect for Starfleet and what it does. I tried a little too hard, but that’s my signature move.

K’Wara: Like the Holodeck during a Final Exam. There’s something entirely unique about that experience, it’s quite impressive that they managed to pack that into a sensory experience.

That was a eureka moment for Breys. From there she could likely even figure out how they made a flower like this, though she’d need at least a few months of research, and likely years of cross breeding. Maybe she’d think more about that later.

Breys: Exactly! I couldn’t think of it, but it smells like a big test.

K’Wara: I used to be an instructor at the Academy before I got posted here. I still conduct exams every now and then, though I don’t teach classes anymore. ::leads D’tin to the next vase and sniffs:: Ah... This is a much sweeter scent.

Even approaching from several paces Breys could tell this flower was incredibly bright smelling, cutting through the air like a honed knife. The flowers themselves were a bright yellow with entwined pistils that turned in on themselves.

Breys: That’s interesting. Hopefully I’m not putting my foot in my mouth, but I can’t imagine you as an instructor, you don’t feel strict enough. ::she leans in to smell the flowers:: I don’t know what this one smells like, do you have any ideas?

K’Wara: Response

The idea hadn’t even crossed D’tin’s mind. She had absolutely no idea what it would even smell like to her.

Breys: ::She sniffs again:: Maybe? What exactly does it remind you of, is it a specific story? Or a place?

K’Wara: Response

There was a gap hanging in the air. Obviously Breys hadn’t experienced this before, and something felt strange to her about that.

Breys: I think you might be right, it doesn’t remind me of anything though.

K’Wara: Response

All of this left Breys feeling odd. It wasn’t like her to step away from flowers, but she didn’t want to think about it any longer.

Breys: Are there any other exhibits you’d like to see? I’m enjoying the show.

K’Wara: Response
