((Sickbay - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))
Munro: Sickbays always make me a little … annoyed. Anytime I've had to spend in one is for these exams or when :: beat :: well, not such fun times.
She thought of Luxa Lorana and Karrod Niac. The last time she had been in a Sickbay they had both been gravely injured by the psychotic Emzai.
Unfortunately, an all too common occurrence in Starfleet. Friends and colleagues end up injured.
Jaran: Well, I assure you that this is very routine, Commander, and we should be out of here in just a few minutes. Please, take a seat on this biobed.
Munro: Thank you, doctor. I'm feeling perfectly fine so this shouldn't take long.
Ava hesitated slightly when she looked at the biobed. She was hoping this would be a quick glance over with the tricorder and she'd be out of here. Doctors will doc, she supposed.
Jaran: Of course, of course.
Jira ran the tricorder's scanner over Munro, as she requested.
Jaran: Great resting heart rate, Commander! Commendable.
Nice to know that the early running, and conditioning was paying off.
Munro: I've been running every morning since I was 15. Breathing and heart rate are things my body does well. The rest, I'm not so sure about.
When the doctor appeared to notice something and then switch into doctor mode, and provide her with the best bedside face she'd seen it did not fill her with confidence.
Jaran: You do have some elevated levels of hydroxyapatite in your bloodstream. It's unlikely to really cause any issues, but I have to ask. Have you been noticing any discomfort in your joints?
oO Hydro … what?! Oo
Munro: Doctor there must be something wrong. I feel fine. My muscles work perfectly.
She raised her arm and bent her elbow, and winced. She looked at her elbow like it had betrayed her.
Jaran: Response
Munro: It's nothing. Just age. The usual wear and tear.
Jaran: Response
It was obvious that the doctor wasn't going to let her escape their torture chamber without a full examination. She looked at the tricorder longingly. Just one quick scan.
Munro: :: resigned :: If you insist. This hydro - thing - it isn't serious is it? :: gravely :: it's not going to affect my running? I've challenged Doctor Bancroft to a race and I fully intend to win.
Jaran: Response
