((CMO’s Office - Primary Sickbay, Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Genkos and Gila had been discussing the good, and bad that Starfleet had been doing. Gila had forgotten that they had time-travelled the year prior, which was understandable considering how busy they had been.
Adea: But what you also have to remember is the good that we’ve done - the aid we’ve administered as doctors, the civilisations we’ve nudged in the right direction, and, to be corny, the friendships we’ve made along the way.
Gila let out a most uncharacteristic snort of what Genkos could only assume was laughter. He looked at her quickly and she immediately turned from lavender hue to a dusty ash and she quickly shuffled around in her seat, clearly uncomfortable.
Sadar: ::hasty clearing of throat:: I-I-If you say so, Sir. Yes, of course, I mean, uh- ::twists anxiety band in rapid succession:: R-Regardless of the lack of consistent personal safety and the general unpredictability of service aboard a Starship, I, of course, intend to- I mean-
Genkos held up a silencing hand, a reassuring smile on his face.
Adea: Calm yourself, Gila. ::he took a sip of his tea, realising that Gila’s daily dose of social interaction appeared to be done:: Thank you for popping by.
Gila took a deep breath, and Genkos pretended not to notice that she was calming herself down.
Sadar: O-Of course, Sir. ::clears throat:: Th-Thank you for the tea.
Adea: It was my pleasure, Gila - I shall see you in the sickbay later.
She rose from her seat to leave the Commander’s office behind, but then she paused, and appeared to be psyching herself up for something.
Sadar: I, uhh... K-Kolya and I are going to, uhh... ::organizes her thoughts before looking back:: W-We’re going to be hosting an Aailudet in our quarters once Kolya’s finishes decorating. It’s, uhh, similar to a ‘housewarming’... I think? I-If you’d like, you’re welcome to...
That was the point at which Gila’s forced calm abandoned her, and she stood in the entrance to Genkos’ office, shuffling uncomfortably on her feet.
Adea: It would be my pleasure.
And with that, Gila nodded a hasty farewell before leaving the room. The door shut and Genkos was left holding his teacup.
Adea: Should I bring anything?
The empty room did not, of course, respond.

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
