(( Outside Water Treatment Plant - Outskirts of the Bantlox Colony, Laoi III ))

After making a valiant attempt to reach Doctor Sadar and being met with a lot of interference, the trio responsible for trying to figure out how to approach the Dominion ship found themselves at a crossroads. Kyle’s brow furrowed at the lack of a clear response, likely due to the interference from their proximity to the ship, but he couldn’t do anything except shrug it off.

And offer a suggestion likely to get them all in trouble.

Morgan: I think we should go in.

Imril: I have to admit, we can’t get the answers we need out here.

Silveira: I would still like to have Sadar knowing and telling us to go

Kyle rolled his eyes and sighed.

Morgan: Oh come on, how mad could she possibly be? And if this thing is as old as you say it is, I’m sure there’s nothing alive or surprising down there by now.

Silveira: It’s still a dangerous wreckage.

Kyle raised an eyebrow and smirked slightly.

Morgan: You’re not scared of Sadar, are ya, Chicken?

Imril: I’m a little concerned about violating the direct orders of the team leader, yes. I only have one pip to hide behind when we come back out.

Vitor shook his head and raised his hand reassuringly to Imril.

Silveira: Don’t worry about that Ensign, I will personally guarantee that the responsibility lies with us not you.

Morgan: Yeah, same here.

And this was where Imril’s not-so-pleasant idea came in.

Imril: ::guilty grimace:: However… Given that we’re dealing with what may as well be an undetonated mine, and effectively out of communication with the away team leader, there is a regulation which would support a tactical officer of equal rank asserting emergency leadership here.

Vitor frowned and gave Kyle a side eye.

Silveira: How so?

Morgan: ::smirking:: Yeah? Go on.

Imril: Starfleet Away Team Guidelines, Section 10, Paragraph 5. In the event of, well, pretty much all of this, we defer to the Hostile Ordinance Protocols. Which would put the decision-making power in Lt. Silveira’s hands.

Vitor arched his eyebrow. He raised his hands, looked at them and raised his eyes to the others. He tipped his head, gestured as if he was cleaning them in his uniform, and shrugged.

Silveira: I am glad someone remembers the regs. OK then how do we get inside?

Morgan: You said there were two doors?

Imril: Both releases will be manufactured for someone of Jem’Hadar strength to open. I’ll go through that equipment pile over there and find something we can use for levers. And to jam the hatch open.

Imril headed for the collection of construction gear and parts which had been abandoned when the piping project ground to a halt. Vitor tipped his head to Kyle.

Silveira: C’mon Doc, let’s find something to pry this can open.

Morgan: I thought you’d never ask!

Vitor smirked and they joined Imril, giving Kyle a teasing glance.

Silveira: It’s going to be a team effort. You're also going to pull some weight Doc.

Morgan: Hey, I’m not just a pretty face and a pair of good hands. ::mock flexing::

Imril: response

Silveira: Well, I didn’t ask to be in charge here, but since I am… ::he shrugged and looked to Imril:: What are we looking for anyway?

Imril: response

Vitor nodded, and Kyle rocked his head back and forth, his eyes scanning the equipment for something useful.

Silveira: Not exactly something I am used to using…

His eyes narrowed as a piece of iron pipe caught his eye. He took several paces forward, walking over much of the loose equipment, until he pulled it from the ground.

Morgan: What about this? Will this work?

Imril/Silveira: response

Kyle held it forward and offered it to Vitor, as though the gesture was also meant to communicate that the tactical chief should be proud of the doctor for pulling his weight and providing something useful. He winked at Sil.

Morgan: Do we need another one?

He pointed at several other pipes of similar sizes close to where he picked up the first one.

Imril/Silveira: Response

Kyle nodded. With the equipment in hand, the trio made their way back to the hatches.

Morgan: Okay. I found the pipes. You two can be responsible for opening the doors.

Imril/Silveira: Response
