(( Previously Abandoned Underground Facility, Kurtûl III ))
Thanks to Lieutenant Storm's quick work, the tactical officer was able to supply the senior staff with coordinates to beam into the facility near their respective objectives, but true to form, they were working against the clock and in less-than-ideal circumstances. MacKenzie's team needed to locate and intercept a group of Nasciak officers who'd beamed down to the planet to locate Havun and fulfill their quest for vengeance long enough for Commander Jovenan's team to apprehend Havun and get to the bottom of whatever thalaron radiation was being generated.
When the team beamed into the facility, it was cold and dark - whatever was powering the facility hadn't been routing power for lighting, and the only heat source likely came from other parts of the facility and were likely insulated by the fact that they were below ground. Upon materialization, MacKenzie immediately drew her weapon and activated the light on her wrist... and wished that they'd opted for Starfleet's cold weather gear. The chill on her cheeks and the backs of her hands alone were enough for her to miss the bulky parka and gloves that were standard issue.
Shining her light against the wall of the corridor, the facility seemed to be a mix of concrete and metal, though it didn't seem to be any kind of construction of species known to her. The corridor seemed endless - the beams of light from her wrist beacon disappeared into darkness without reflecting off anything, suggesting that they might not be as close to their objective as Storm's calculations might have had her believe.
MacKenzie: We need to find the Nasciak team before they find and kill Havun. It's unlikely we'll be able to pick up any of the lifesigns of the Romulan - or Da'al, or whatever they are - but we may be able to get a read on any Nasciak biosigns so we can intercept them and buy Jovenan enough time to get to Havun and find the source of the thalaron radiation.
Cole/Bancroft/Jaran: Responses
There was a bang from the direction in which she'd previously shown her light. It wasn't very loud by the time the soundwaves reached their ears, but given the dense materials the walls of the corridors were made of, she imagined it would have had to have been pretty loud when whatever it was created the initial sound.
MacKenzie: It's probably a good assumption we need to head in that direction - can your scans confirm?
Cole/Bancroft/Jaran: Responses
S
he nodded singularly.
MacKenzie: Then let's hurry - we don't have a lot of time. ...and maybe a jog will help get the blood flowing.
