((The Old Inn, Canterbury, UK, Earth))
Genkos caught the barman’s eye and shook his head slightly at him - Vitor was shaking his glass at the man and Genkos was of the opinion that he’d had enough for now.
Adea: Please don’t take this the wrong way my friend, but you’re drinking those awfully fast.
Vitor raised an eyebrow and shrugged, which wasn’t precisely the response Genkos wanted.
Silveira: Give me a break… The faster it goes down the more we can fill. We’re in a pub. That’s how it works.
Genkos tried to smile as warmly as he could whilst feeling slightly uncomfortable.
Adea: It is, but it’s not like they’re going to run out Vitor, don’t worry.
Vitor pouted and opened his arms. With a defeated look he nodded and leaned back.
Silveira: Fine… I didn’t know you had Herbert in your name… Doc Genkos Herbert Adea. Tell you what, I cut the drinks and you do one thing for me.
Adea: Herbert..? I don’t get the… never mind. ::he sighed:: What is it you want me to do, Vitor?
Vitor grinned, slowly he began tapping his empty glass at the music rhythm. Genkos gripped his chair for a moment, he knew what was coming and he didn’t like it…
Silveira: Sing with me..
Adea: Oh Vitor, I don’t really…
Vitor ignored Genkos reply and closed his eyes. His tapping was now in time with the music and Genkos let out an inward groan as the man began to sing.
Silveira: You win again, so little time, we do nothing but compete
There's no life on earth, no other could see me through
You win again, some never try but if anybody can, we can
And I'll be (and I'll be), I'll be (I'll be) following you, oh girl
Vitor began to smile.
Adea: You’re drunk, Vitor. Or getting there.
Silveira: Response
Adea: There’s nothing wrong with getting drink my friend, as long as you’re not doing it as a coping mechanism. That’s dangerous. I should know.
And he did - once in the past he had dug deep into the drink for an emotional crutch and it had been very unpleasant. Not to mention that his Skarbek equivalent was a professional alcoholic, and he hated that guy with a passion. Or rather, he hated being that guy.
Silveira: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
