Ensign Ollie Bergmen - Party Bus is coming into town

Ollie still couldn't shake the strange feeling he had about what happened on SB224. What really happened there? Was he used? Or what was the reason why Chief wanted him with her? When it comes down to it, will he have any problems with what Chief Ral has done?

Ensign took a deep breath. Whatever happened down there on the station, it doesn't matter anymore.

The turbolift stopped on deck 11, and the door to the tube opened, revealing a maelstrom of work that never stopped in the main shuttle bay.

It was time to go; the shuttle was waiting, and this ensign was late.

Ensign Ollie Bergmen stopped at the shuttle entrance when he heard a voice he did not recognize. The melody of that voice captured his attention. Young, full of life and hope… it seemed almost untainted by the burdens of half a century…

Filistrien: Of course. When will we be departing?

Another voice voiced the shuttle cabin. The voice ensign Bergmen finally recognized.

Sadar: We’re just waiting on the rest of the team. DS224 Ops have already given us clearance to depart, so it won’t be long.

Ollie knocked carefully on the shuttle bulkhead. He waited a second, then two... five seconds passed as the ensign stood in the entrance before he struck again, this time more distinctly.

Bergmen: Hello, is this shuttle Griffin?

Gnai: Response

A voice startled Ensign Bergmen from behind. He jumped back against the bulkhead, glaring at the lieutenant in fear.

Bergmen: Ah, lieutenant Gnai… hello? ::gaze at Imril incoming:: Ensign?

Imril: Response

Bergmen: Welcome, ensign at Artemis. Will we go? ::points into shuttle::

Gnai/Imril: Response?

The group entered the shuttle and proceeded through the social area toward the cockpit, where pre-flight preparations were already underway. Their entrance caught the attention of Lieutenant Sadar, who was sitting in the pilot's seat.

Sadar: W-Welcome aboard. I-I don’t know if you’ve met, but uhh, this is Petty Officer Filistrien. He’ll be observing the mission.

Ollie turned his gaze from the lieutenant to the petty officer, and his face lit up like the shuttle controls during an emergency systems test.

Filistrien: A pleasure to be serving with you, Sir.

Bergmen eagerly extended his hand to shake with Filistrien.

Bergmen: Ensign Ollie Bergmen, Operations. Pleased to meet you too.

Gnai/Imril: Response

Ollie settled into the spot next to Xandeus and began to fasten his seat belt.

Bergmen: So, Mr. Filistrien, how does it look? Will it be taking off soon?

As soon as the ensign said those words, he realized he should have slapped himself.
