Lyara: You push the stretcher, I'll carry him. There’s a lifepod not too far from here where we can treat them.

With haste she helped the patient with internal bleeding up and swung his arm around her shoulder. Although an intense task on her still uncomfortable arm, the walk wouldn’t be a problem if it meant saving at least one holographic life.

They exited the sickbay and quickly moved towards the escape pod. Imril looked back to see Lyara keeping pace with a little bit of difficulty as she helped carry the patient.

Lyara: We should be nearing the escape pod's position! Just a little longer!

Imril: Keep clear of the walls, in case one of the panels --

One of the red alert screens next to Imril exploded, sending sparks everywhere and landing in their hair. Alroyo could smell the burning hair of their Bactrican coworker.

Imril: -- does that!

The emergency lights started to fail around them as they continued down the hall, not letting the sparks stop their pace. Thankfully the stretcher Imril was leading with had lights on them that could guide them the rest of the way. However the simulated ship had other plans as their steps started to feel lighter and like they were beginning to lift up.

Imril: I think we're losing gravity!

Lyara: Aw crap!

The two officers used their last moments of somewhat secure gravity to turn the corner towards the escape pod. But when they turned the corner there was no escape pod, only the grid patterns of the holodeck walls and the officers running the test. Ollie glanced around then looked to Chief Ral who lowered her padd and moved forward with Chief Kaz’Orah.

Ral: Line up.

With the holopatient and holoblood now gone, Lyara took a deep breath and moved to stand in line.

Ral motioned for Ollie to begin reading his instructions.

Bergman: Congratulation, Alroyo ::nods to Lyara:: Imril ::nods to Imril:: for Your successful completion of this OPS evacuation training. I… I would… ::visibly looking for words::

Lyara tried to hold back a stern look as Ollie addressed her by her chosen name. She did not give him permission to be called that nor was it the right time to as they were on duty.

Ral gave an exasperated sigh, but most likely not at Ollie’s improper use of Bajoran names. She moved to Bergmen’s side placing a hand on his shoulder and moved him behind her.

Ral: This exercise has no pass or fail criteria. You faced an impossible situation, choices, and dilemmas that I would never want you to experience in real life. Nevertheless, you persevered. You made your decisions and actions based on your personal capabilities. There are no definitive right or wrong choices in circumstances such as these. Rather, in situations like this, there is only one objective to follow—save yourself and help as many others as possible.

She paused for a moment, leaving an awkward silence, at least for Lyara.

Ral: I must stipulate, for both of you ::gaze to Lyara and Imril:: - that even though you made some missteps that could have cost you your life in a real situation - You acted with honor and dignity decorous, both of you, as Starfleet officers. You can be proud of yourself. ::pause:: Your certification will be filled into your personal records by Chief Kaz'Orah until the end of the week. Each trainer will send you individual recommendations as well. If you have any questions or thoughts, please address them in writing to Chief Kaz'Orah as well. That’s all. Dismiss.

Alroyo wondered what her missteps were as the operation officers walked away. Ollie gave the two officers a thumbs up and smile before running back to join the others.

oO What the hell is going on between my test administrators Oo

Imril: Thank you, Sirs. ::To Lyara:: I guess that worked out alright then. Do you really know how to help with all of those injuries, or were you just trying to get everyone in the pod?

She looked to Imril and tried to think of an answer to that question. Alroyo wanted to say that yes indeed she could have done it and saved their lives. But she feared that in the moment she had gotten too idealistic and acted without thinking about her lack of medical knowledge. Alroyo looked at Imril and answered.

Lyara: I could’ve figured it out.

That surely was a reassuring answer to give someone when asked if she knew medical aid. Maybe it’s a good thing she stuck to being a pilot.

Imril: Well, congrats on getting through this. I'm gonna go clean up. See you around.

Lyara nodded to them, although the holoblood was off of her she could still remember the feeling of it all over her. She needed to move quickly to take a sonic shower to wash away the feeling of blood, lest she get sick or worse, pass out.
