Ensign Ollie Bergmen - Hello Neighbor

When the doors closed behind the Ensign Bergmen's back, it felt strange. The common room looked deserted and impersonal, with only the standard equipment assigned to every midshipman and junior officers quarters. Ollie was expecting anything but this. As he stood there surveying the cabin, a doubt seeped into his mind that he might have ended up in bad quarters, that he somehow got it all mixed up, and this wasn't where he was supposed to be.

Wasn't the name of another ensign on the sign by the door? Bergmen returned to the corridor and made sure that these were indeed his quarters. And they were.

Ollie went back inside and retrieved his duffel bag from the floor. Placing it on the coffee table, he unzipped it. As he searched through the bag for something to liven up the room and reflect his personality, the door behind him opened again, and footsteps clattered against the carpet on the floor.

Lyara: Response

Bergmen paused his rummaging in the duffel bag and shifted his attention to the newcomer. He greeted them with a smile, or at least his best attempt at one, and gave a friendly wave.

Bergmen: Hello? Ensign Ollie Bergmen, Operations. I’m living here. And you are living here. That means we are roommates, right? Did you pick your room already?

Lyara: Response

Ollie glanced in the direction indicated by Lyara and then shrugged.

Bergmen: Oki douki, I take another one. May I ask, do you have something you want here in the common room specifically? I ask not to take some place for something important for you.

Lyara: Response

Ollie nodded with satisfaction, his smile growing wider.

Bergmen: Works for me!

Lyara: Response
