((Elysium - Main level, Deck 6, USS Artemis))

Natasha caught movement out of the corner of her eye as she was looking over her PADD, glancing up she saw Lieutenant Storm standing there in a fuchsia wrap-around dress that hugged her in all the right spots with a pair of three inch heels. Storm’s dress reminded her of a top she has.

Storm:  Mind if I take a seat?

Cole:  Absolutely ::gesturing towards the seat:: Be my guest. : I was just drafting a letter to someone.

Natasha watched as Lieutenant Storm lowered herself quite regally into her seat.

Storm:  Thank you.  I had something I wanted to talk over with you, if you have a moment.

Cole: What’s on your mind? If it’s dating related, I’m afraid I don’t have the latest round of gossip.

Storm:  Oh.  No, actually I wanted to talk work, but ::Alex leaned in:: did you ever have one of those days where you desperately needed to dress up and feel like a woman?

Natasha smiled at Alex’s question, in all honesty it was something she genuinely enjoyed doing when she could. She went to set her PADD facedown and must have subconsciously hit send, because it made the message sent sound. In spite of her trying not to, she grimaced for just a moment, before resigning herself to the fact that the Universe was bent on her dealing with her father.

Cole: ::Smile returning:: Yes, I love those days. I didn’t always have that luxury, so I try and enjoy them whenever possible. Especially if I can on the holodeck.

The thought of her and Bancroft from their Miami misadventure popped into her head, the two of them in their 1980’s pastel suits and their silly characters. She smiled with a slight laugh to herself.

Storm:  Do you need to take that message?

Cole: Oh that, that was a message I wasn’t planning on sending, if at all. I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’ll deal with it later. ::glancing at the PADD annoyed at it’s betrayal::

Storm:  If you’re sure you don’t need a minute.  So … back to my original thought…

Cole: ::leaning back:: Let me guess, you need me to inventory the armory?

Storm:  I was thinking about something a little more exciting than that.

Cole:  If excitement’s what you’re after, I can think of at least three options that’ll make you gasp ::coy smile:: none of which I should say in mixed company.

Alex’s eyes swelled, while her ribcage jumped at intervals. Her hand flew up to her mouth.  The muffled notes of laughter started to escape around her hand, before she lowered her hand and had a genuine smile.

Storm:  Maybe not that exciting, but thank you.  I haven’t laughed that hard in a while.

Cole:  ::smiling:: Your welcome, so what were you thinking?

Storm:  What would you think about  planning a joint security/tactical drill.  You know… something thrilling. A real edge-of-your-seat adventure. Bold. Daring. Possibly involving at least one fire suppression system malfunction.

Natasha had leaned back into her chair and listened intently as Alex talked about her idea. As she described what she was thinking, Natasha’s usual coy smile grew into a more mischievous one.

Cole:  I like the idea of a joint drill, since there our departments tend to work together, so why not do so on a drill. ::the corner of her mouth twitched upward:: I love the idea of some kind of malfunction.

Storm: Response

Cole: You can tell a lot about someone when things don’t go how they expect. For example, I read that Lieutenant Bancroft threw his phaser at a giant spider on the last away mission.

Storm: Response

Cole: Oh, I’d expect nothing less from him. His instinct is always to save life first.  ::beat:: Ours is… whatever it takes to protect the many.

Storm: Response

Cole: Someone in my family once said “Don’t go looking for danger, it’s already got your number.” Though I think the real lesson they were trying to impart is Bravery is the instinct to move when others hesitate, because someone has too.

Storm: Response
