((Counsellor's Office - Counselling Suites - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))
Lux: And Commander Jovenan was in command?
Tho'Bi: ::quietly:: Yes.
The Trill nodded.
The glass was placed to one side.
The Andorian lent forward.
Tho'Bi: Is.. Is that important? I mean… I don't… I don't think it is.
The Andorian sat back. The Trill smiled.
Lux: I'm just building up a picture of what happened on the bridge, whose in command is often important to that :: she leaned forward slightly :: Please continue… you transferred power from the inertial dampeners?
Tho'Bi: ::staring at floor:: I mean to say… I… I still made the decisions I made.
The Andorian's gaze moved away from the floor and back to the Trill Counsellor.
Tho'Bi: ::slow deliberate:: I do not believe I can… excuse myself.
Moves to pick up glass. Stop. Moves back. Glass remains where it was.
Tho'Bi: ::slow deliberate:: I can not simply put it all on Lieutenant Commander Jovenan.
The Trill Counsellor watched him for a moment. The decking beneath his feet purred the pulse of the Warp Reactor.
Lux: What is that then in terms of emotion? Are you okay to tell me what you are feeling?
The Andorian kicked his heels off the deck. Once, then twice. Like a child, grown too big for their swing.
Tho'Bi: ::voice thins out to nothing:: …that I need to be careful.
Lux: That's interesting. Have you ever felt that before?
The Andorian twisted the glass of Srjula Tea one way and then the other. The action was idle, restless.
Tho'Bi: ::focused on glass:: When I was a kid… I had to be very careful when I played with the other children.
Stops twisting the glass. Sits back. Looks at the Trill Counsellor.
Tho'Bi: I was stronger. …a lot stronger.
Lux: It is difficult when you're forced into a very intense situation, on your first mission as well. Several intense scenarios, where your life was in danger. It's going to bring up a lot of emotions for you.
The Andorian looked away. His dark blue eyes tracked across the assorted furniture and brickabrac in the room.
Tho'Bi: ::distant:: Yeah… that makes sense.
Kicked heels. Look around. Silence. Seconds. Seconds stretched into tens of seconds. Finally, looks at Counsellor.
Tho'Bi: ::quiet:: But Andorians are built for danger… for life or death… for war. ::shakes head:: Everything is calmer, clearer for us in these moments.
Lux: Response
Stands up. Starts pacing.
Tho'Bi: ::more animated:: It’s not supposed to bother me. It's not supposed to be a problem. ::looks at Lux:: I'm Andorian.
Sits down. Shifts for no purpose.
Lux: Response
Tho'Bi: But it should bother me? Shouldn't it? ::finger pointing at chest:: I want it to bother me.
Sits back in a heap.
Lux: Response
