[PNPC] LtCmdr Glim Vel - Get Gone

Glim narrowed his eyes a moment, wondering whether he needed to be more direct about how much he wanted the young officer to get out of his office.

Vel: Let me ask you a question, Bergmen - have you got any independent working you could be getting on with?

Ollie hesitated, biting his lip as he pondered his response. It was sure to be totally asinine.

Bergmen: From today’s to-do, I completed the whole list, sir. But when you mention that… I was asked to look into one LCARS UI update from the quartermaster. I wanted to review that tonight, but I guess now is as good a time as any. And there was the thing with flyops I wanted to take a look at for a long time, regarding their rostering. During my rotation down there, I felt they could use their people resources more effectively.

Glim pointed at Bergmen as he spoke, and then gave him a human thumb up as he mentioned the rostering. That seemed like a long, pointless task, that would keep Bergmen away for what Glim hoped was a long, long time. Maybe there’d be a new Head of Ops by then. 

Vel: Yes, do that. The second one.

Bergmen: Sounds good, sir. I can get started right away.

The blood truffle biscuits were calling to Glim, and he snatched one up and broke it in half as he spoke to the young officer.

Vel: Good, get it done.

The Ensign nodded, rising from his chair and hugging his PADD tightly to his chest.

Bergmen: Thank you for your feedback and pieces of advice, sir. If you excuse me, I have work to do.

The Ensign then stood at attention for a moment before turning toward the door. As soon as he turned away, Glim let out a long sigh and shook his head slowly. It was lonely at the top.
