Vitor was trying to reach Sada and he, trying to break through the interference, he raised his voice.
Silveira: =/\= It’s hard to understand you. I have a hunch this ship is older, but until we get inside we can’t be sure. I am considering going in. Please advise
Imril/Morgan: Response
Sadar: =/\= Response
Kyle’s brow furrowed and he shrugged.
Morgan: I think we should go in.
Imril: I have to admit, we can’t get the answers we need out here.
Vitor frowned, Imril was right and he also had a feeling they needed to get inside.
Still he didn’t want to just take matters into his own hands. If it was anyone else, another senior officer, he wouldn’t be so doubtful.
But it was Sada, his friend and certainly the last person that would like being in “charge”, even if informally.
Silveira: I would still like to have Sadar knowing and telling us to go
Kyle rolled his eyes and sighed.
Morgan: Oh come on, how mad could she possibly be? And if this thing is as old as you say it is, I’m sure there’s nothing alive or surprising down there by now.
Silveira: It’s still a dangerous wreckage.
Kyle raised an eyebrow and smirked slightly.
Morgan: You’re not scared of Sadar, are ya, Chicken?
Imril: I’m a little concerned about violating the direct orders of the team leader, yes. I only have one pip to hide behind when we come back out.
Vitor shook his head and raised his hand reassuringly to Imril. He would never let them get into any trouble.
Silveira: Don’t worry about that Ensign, I will personally guarantee that the responsibility lies with us not you.
Morgan: response
Imril: ::guilty grimace:: However… Given that we’re dealing with what may as well be an undetonated mine, and effectively out of communication with the away team leader, there is a regulation which would support a tactical officer of equal rank asserting emergency leadership here.
Vitor frowned and gave Kyle a side eye.
Silveira: How so?
Morgan: response
Imril: Starfleet Away Team Guidelines, Section 10, Paragraph 5. In the event of, well, pretty much all of this, we defer to the Hostile Ordinance Protocols. Which would put the decision-making power in Lt. Silveira’s hands.
Vitor arched his eyebrow. He raised his hands, looked at them and raised his eyes to the others. He tipped his head, gestured as if he was cleaning them in his uniform, and shrugged.
Silveira: I am glad someone remembers the regs. OK then how do we get inside?
Morgan: response
Imril: Both releases will be manufactured for someone of Jem’Hadar strength to open. I’ll go through that equipment pile over there and find something we can use for levers. And to jam the hatch open.
Imril headed to construction stuff, left behind from the unfinished watering build.
Vitor tipped his head to Kyle
Silveira: C’mon Doc, let’s find something to pry this can open.
Morgan: response
Vitor smirked and they joined Imril, giving Kyle a teasing glance.
Silveira: It’s going to be a team effort. You're also going to pull some weight Doc.
Imril/Morgan: response
Vitor wasn’t exactly sure what to look for, hopefully Imril would know what might be needed to get them into Jem’Haddar strength levels.
Silveira: Well, I didn’t ask to be in charge here, but since I am… ::he shrugged and looked to Imril:: What are we looking for anyway?
Imril/Morgan: response
Vitor nodded, although he wasn’t really sure what that would look like.
Silveira: Not exactly something I am used to using…
Imril/Morgan: response
