Their instructor was about to give them new instructions, but again there was an address at the same Bolian that was eating.

T'Nil: Our next pose involves - Crewman! I must insist that you cease eating, or I'll have to ask you to leave!

Salkath: ::with the merest of eyebrow raises:: It must be a good sandwich.

Vitor narrowed his eyes at the Bolian.

Silveira: I hope so. And I will let my rational side win over my emotions, and think he must have a good reason for eating it now.

Salkath looked inquisitively at him.

Salkath: Please elaborate. I would not consider eating and exercise to be mutually inclusive.

Silveira: I am considering he hasn't got a chance to eat, after pulling a double shift, and that he finds this class beneficial, so he's just made a mistake by trying to do both things.

Salkath: So a lapse of judgement, then? ::pause to consider further:: Or rather, good intention with unintended consequence?

Vitor smiled at Salkath, who reacted with a raised eyebrow.

Silveira: Well, we have that expression that says “to err is human”

Salkath: Yes, so said an ancient poet from your world. "To forgive divine", if I recall correctly, is the continuation of that saying. It is of a similar intent as our IDIC philosophy. ::nodding deferentially:: You are a wise man, Mr Silviera.

Vitor tipped his head and opened his mouth, surprised by Salkath’s words. He smiled sadly.

Silveira: You wouldn’t say that if you knew me better.

Salkath stood tall, and projected his voice up, Vitor raising an eyebrow wondering what he was doing.

Salkath: T'Kehr T'Nil, respectfully, our friend is not bothering any pupils with his dining, and you can utilize your kei'tan to ignore the distraction. Let him be and continue the lesson, please.

((OOC: T'Kehr = teacher; kei'tan = discipline))

Vitor didn’t recognize some of the words Salkath said, but it looked like the intention worked, and they carried on

Salkath: ::turning back to Vitor:: I appreciate your insight. It is clear why you have been chosen to lead a department. You have tact and compassion. I often lack those skills, and is likely a leading reason I do not lead a department myself.

Vitor shook his head and raised his finger, now distracted from the exercise.

Silveira: It’s more experience and truth be told I am not the best example for a department head. Hell I am barely an example as an officer. You outrank me. I am certain you have the potential and are certainly as able as me to be a department head.

Salkath: To be truthful, I do not avoid the responsibility of leadership, though I also do not seek it. I am a specialist, and am content serving a specialized role. Did you seek leadership?

Vitor returned his attention to the different poses that the teacher was directing them to.
Harder than the exercises were the thoughts and memories that such question posed.

Silveira: I did early in my career. If you mean a commanding position. But some wrong and emotional decisions had cut that path for me, by my own flaws and doing.

Salkath: A leadership role must have been important during our unfortunate events in the vicinity of Betazed, though. I served with you but a short time, however afterwards? ::pause:: If you would rather not discuss, I would understand.

Vitor shook his head and changed his position.

Silveira: It wasn’t my first time facing CloQ, and by then Commander Dakora was with us. But admittedly, as before, meeting CloQ can be quite traumatic. And most of the time they are the ones leading us. ::He tipped his head, breaking the position.:: At least this time he didn’t worked on me.

Salkath: Response

Vitor shrugged and replicated the new position that T'Nil was showing them.

Silveira: In our last encounter he… “Deaged” me. I look younger than I really am. CloQ thought it best to return me to an old trauma. ::Vitor shrugged:: They can really be a pain.

Salkath: Response

Vitor paused, looking at the new position.

Silveira: Admittedly it is one of the most challenging opponents I ever encountered. But how about you? Where did you end up after we split? Have you ever encountered a Q?

Salkath: Response
