((Central Government Building, Starfleet Guest Suite – Kobyar Capital, Galaris IV))

(OOC: Retconning some text into the section up front to meld the descriptions of Imril opening a door to a corridor and Silveira stepping into a room)

Imril: Time to go!

Imril waved Richard through the door and followed after her, Siveira picking up the rear. The sonic groan chased them down the corridor. So too did a long, lighting-shaped crack along the very wall they had just left from. The building itself was breaking apart under the sonic barrage.

They never made it to the main concourse, owing to a barricade put in place by soldiers who were setting up to repel invaders. Rifles and drones at the ready behind a waist-high barrier of crystalline metal. One of these soldiers was waving a yellow hand-light.

Kobyar Soldier: Starfleet! This way to the shelter!

The trio was led past the barricade, along a corner, down some stairs to a thick metal door that opened up into a small and starkly efficient space. The walls were of a sturdier stuff than those of the suite, and half of one of the walls was dedicated to information screens and news holos. Complete with a battlemap or three, including a diagram of the Plaza and Capitol building, marred with dark spots to indicate active combat zones. Grunden forces identified with a paw-print icon against the half-tower-half-rotorblade design of the Kobyar.

Silveira holstered his phaser and quickly joined them as they entered the new room. He gave it a quick look and gestured to Imril and Richards.

Silveira: Take cover, find some cloth or something to improvise some bandages.

It didn’t take long to find a fist-aid kit, thanks to the translation holos that hovered over every shelf. The text of the kit itself was unreadable to them, though, so they had to feel their way through its contents. The first set of what might have been bandages squished in their hand like they were saturated with a viscous fluid. The next felt relatively normal. They opened the packet up and found bandages which were dry, but reeked of a more concentrated form of the antiseptic which permeated the air.

They showed the bandages to Richards, ready to help her with a tourniquet. Their back could wait until she was tended to.

Richards: response

Silveira took a step to the side as he tapped his combadge, taking advantage of a pause in the firing.

Silveira: =/\= Silveira to Captain MacKenzie. The Grunden broke the truce and attacked the Kobyar Capital. Our quarters were hit, we are all fine, just minor injuries.

MacKenzie: =/\= What’s your assessment, Lieutenant? =/\=

As the Lieutenant continued their report, Imril looked to the infographics.

Imril: ::Quietly, to Richards:: Looks like the Capitol's not the only place under attack. There’s a military base nearby, practically right beside it. It looks like the attackers are concentrating on a prison complex.

Richards: response

Sivleira’s expression turned somber.

Silveira: =/\= I don't think my team is useful here. Captain, permission to beam back to the Artemis and provide support from there.

MacKenzie: =/\= Go ahead, Sil. I’m calling for an evacuation of the entire crew back to the ship. We’ll debrief there. =/\=

Silveira: =/\= Response =/\= (if desired)

KRR-KRAAAACK! The horrific echo of structural collapse shuddered across the bunker walls, which held firm against the chaos. The infoholos confirmed that the rooms they had just departed were now smashed to pieces and that nothing which had been left behind in the computer lab was going to survive the day.

Imril had a scolding coming when they got back to the ship, they knew. But unlike their prior act of impulsiveness back on the Genesis planet, this one would pay off in the form of the salvaged evidence.

Imril: .oO(Worth it.)

There was no victory on their face, however, as they tapped their communicator. Far, far too many people were going to be left behind to live through this onslaught or be killed by it.

Imril: =/\= Imril to Artemis. Three to beam up. We have wounded. =/\=

Would the group be delivered to a transporter pad or directly into Sickbay? They’d leave that decision up to whoever had to manage this evacuation-by-transporter.

Richards: Imril

As the first light of the transporter beam washed over Imril’s soon-to-be incorporeal eyes, the color contrast with the holographic text drew their eyes once more to the holoscreens. A scant few sentences reached the ensign before the air turned blue-white.
