Genkos had been triaging patients for what felt like countless hours when Kraal appeared at his elbow, passing him a PADD. Genkos took in the worried expression on the Caitian’s face before looking down at Hopper’s treatment thus far. She was stable, but the shrapnel would need to be removed.
Kraal: That’s the situation, Commander. I’ve stabilised her as well as I could, but she’s still deteriorating. The shard needs to come out, but it’s going to be a complicated procedure.
Adea: Thank you Kraal - is there anything else?
Genkos looked up and saw that Richards was also present in the room. He pursed his lips but said nothing else, turning to Kraal and awaiting anything more.
Richards: Response
Kraal: There’s one bit of good news. I didn’t realise until I ran a genomic analysis, but she’s half-Human and half-Centauran. That might have saved her life.
Adea: ::muttering:: Her heart’s not on the left… Thank the Four. ::after shaking his head and briefly casting his eyes to the heavens:: Kraal, take a drink and take five. But then, if you’re able, I’ll need you to keep triaging.
Richards: Response
Kraal folded his arms across his chest and nodded.
Kraal: ::To Adea:: Best of luck, Sir… ::To Richards:: She’s awake, but talking isn’t easy.
Genkos turned to Richards and spoke fairly sharply to him.
Adea: You can talk to her for a minute, no more.
Richards: Response
As Richards turned towards Hopper, Genkos placed a hand on the man’s shoulders.
Adea: And we’ll need to discuss correct hypospray etiquette at some point before you depart, Lieutenant.
Richards/Hopper: Response

After a few moments’ talk, Genkos gently reappeared at the base of Hopper’s biobed.
Adea: Richards, you have to go. And Hopper, before we start, do you have any questions?
