(( Captain’s Ready Room – Deck 1, USS Artemis-A ))
With the easy pleasantries out of the way, Sam began to feel more comfortable with her presence on the starship.
S. Richards: Thank you, for letting me come back here for a little while. ::handing MacKenzie the bottle:: I definitely feel like I have some unfinished business to take care of.
The Captain gestured for Sam to take a seat as she examined the bottle of wine. With a nod the bottle was set to the side. Sam took that as a win.
MacKenzie: Now, what’s this about unfinished business?
S. Richards: Oof, right to the question. ::Chuckling:: As many others, I am still struggling with the fallout of Frontier Day. I met members of your crew, on the Cube, here and the Kitty Hawk. oO And a bar in San Francisco…Oo
MacKenzie: It was quite unexpected running into you on the Cube, but your expertise was appreciated. I’m sure the other members of the crew feel similarly.
Looking down at her hand she tried to hold back a small laugh.
S. Richards: If my expertise was punching a drone and breaking my hand… Then I’ll call it successful.
MacKenzie: So what are you doing on this side of the galaxy? Deep Space 224 is hardly a destination hotspot, nevermind the Borderlands…
She averted her gaze off of MacKenzie, as it set in that she was going to be reuniting with so many people from such a difficult time.
S. Richards: When I heard this is where you were going to be I figured it was a good chance to reconnect with people from Frontier Day, and the timing felt right. I have a lot of questions to ask and thanks to give. ::relaxing back into the chair:: I discovered a lot about myself over that time, but I think there’s more to it. ::shrugging:: Call it some soul searching I guess.
MacKenzie: Response
S. Richards: Since I'm here I will start with you…
Shifting in the chair, she hoped she wasn’t being too forward with the Captain she had only met once before.
MacKenzie: Response
S. Richards: I just wanted to tell you thank you. You were able to keep a level head in the Cube when some of us were clearly unable to. You had a big hand in keeping all of us alive. The way you helped lead us through left a mark on me. Because of you and some of your crew, I’m still here.
MacKenzie: Response
