OOC: I know Gnai will only return next week but keeping up his tags so he can catch up when he returns
IC:
(( In Space - Laoi System, Minos Korva Sector, Alpha Quadrant ))
A comline interrupted their mission. Apparently the local colony had ran into some trouble.
Vitor looked between all the others. They weren’t exactly a rescue team, but they covered most of the duty posts, Ops, Medical, Engineering, Science. They should.
Silveira: I think we should help.
Morgan: I think so, too.
Gnai: Response
Vailani: What did he mean by wreck?
Imril: We’ll have to get closer to that planet if we want to find out. All this solar radiation is interfering with long-range scanners.
Vitor turned and tapped in the controls stabilizing the shuttle.
Silveira: We need more information.:: Vitor tapped a few controls and spoke loudly so that he could be heard over the comline:: =/\= Administrator Bim Pend, this is Lieutenant Silveira can you give us more details please. Is it safe to land? Do you have a place that need’s us more urgently?
Bim Pend: =/\= Response
Gnai: Response
Sadar: Response
Having taken the first question Vitor set up the shuttle to the new course. He frowned, he wasn’t used to atmospheric flight, and he never landed with such a shuttle before.
Sadar: Response
Bim Pend: =/\= Response
Gnai: Response
Vailani: It may just be a system malfunction. I’m sure that myself and Ensign Imril could be of use. Given the radiation from the star :: looks to Silveira nervously :: We would need to land the shuttle.
Imril: I’m happy to help. A distress call is a distress call.
Vitor turned to Sada, giving her a reassuring nod. He looked at Morgan, Zoy, Imril and Gnai, offering a smile and another nod.
Silveira: You all know my vote, I think we should help. And obviously send a message to any other ship around.
Vailani: It would take four days for the nearest ship to get here.
Morgan: Sounds like it’s up to us, boss…
Sadar: Response
Bim Pend: =/\= Response
Vito tapped in the controls and adjusted the shuttle's course. He nodded.
Silveira: Course set. You can tell them we are on our way.
Sadar: Response
Bim Pend: =/\= Response
Imril/Vailani/Morgan: Response
Gnai: Response
Vitor increased the power and he began making a few adjustments, as the comline finished and they got to learn a little more, but just barely it was time for action.
Silveira: I got this, but just in case, everyone strap up and keep an eye on the systems.
I managed to make thirty eight landings in forty two.
Sadar: Response
Imril/Vailani/Morgan: Response
Gnai: Response
Vitor grinned. Admittedly he wasn’t as confident as he showed. Atmospheric flight was a hole other beast. And yes a hole, not whole, because you're going down in one, inside a flying brick that has the aerodynamics of a chiseled rock.
At least in his mind, since he was a Tactical Officer, not a pilot.
But now he was likely biting more than he could chew…
Why wasn’t that familiar?
Silveira: In simulations obviously. Still that’s a pretty good average, considering I am not a pilot or helmsman. And if you're wondering how many actual atmospheric landings I did, it’s one.
Counting this one…
