Lt Alex Storm - Where's a Telepath When You Need Them?

This whole situation was more than frustrating, but that didn’t mean that Alex could allow herself the luxury of getting frustrated.  Come hell or frozen coolant, they needed to get to engineering.  And while Alex tried to communicate that, comms were less than obliging.

Tho'Bi: ::to Storm:: ::shrugged and pointed at the hatch::

Meris made motions with his hands.  Alex looked up at his location and realized that they WERE in main engineering.  She gave him a nod and turned back to the rest of the group’s situation.  This particular door had a wheel to unlock it.  Alex tried to turn it.  She wasn’t a weakling, but it didn’t want to budge.  Knowing that Andorians have a higher muscle density, she hoped that Thobi might be able to.  She motioned him over.

Storm: =/\= Can ::comms static:: turn ::comms static:: =/\=

Alex watched the Andorian.  She took in a breath and held it.

And the wheel broke clean off.

oO  Well that wasn’t supposed to happen. Oo

Tho'Bi: ::turning to Storm:: ::Holds up wheel:: ::shakes his head::

Storm: =/\= Is ::comms static:: danger ::comms static:: phaser on door? =/\=

Storm looked at Thobi waiting for an answer when a phaser hit Bancroft’s helmet.  Picking up the phaser, the tactical officer looked up and saw Meris.  She waved her thanks and then realized that Tho’bi was writing something on the LCARS panel.  She maneuvered over to read it.

Storm: :: Alex nodded her understanding.::

Comms were useless.  She wished she had another telepath around.  Communication would have been a breeze then.  

Tho’bi had the tricorder, she had the phaser.  She set it to modulation like the engineer suggested.  She used the phaser on the door for a moment and watched Tho’bi’s response.

Bancroft: Response.

Meris: =/\= Automatic eje- ::comms static:: ...stem is not... ::comms static:: ... core. =/\=

Once Tho’bi gave the thumbs up to try it again,  Alex hit the door with the modulated phaser.

Not this time either.

But when Tho’bi gave her the okay sign the third time, she trained the phaser on the door once again.  This time it shattered.

Storm:  =/\= Thir…ime … harm.  Let… o…. wat … suits goin….ough.=/\=

Alex stood back and made sure that all of her team made it into Main Engineering.  Hopefully in there, they would have plenty of ladders that were intact to climb.

Meris/Bancroft: Response.

Alex hated these suits.  They were bulky, frustrating, they slowed ones movements, and … well, yes… they saved ones life too.  Little trade offs. But what Storm felt most of all was how respectively slowly they made their way up the ladder.  The first thing Storm did was to check on Meris.  They seemedt to be intact.

As Alex turned toward the warp core, she nearly ran into Bergman.

Storm:  =/\=Lieute…we …. ally made …  Do … ::points at Bergman.:: yo  ::Points at her head.:: ow  ::Puts her hands up in the air.:: happen…=/\=
