(( Elysium Mezzanine, USS Artemis-A ))

Bergmen: Is it normal for missions on Artemis to go so crazy like that, Commander?

As the commander chuckled softly, Ollie caught sight of his sweeping gesture and quickly took a bite of the bread to ensure the sauce it was soaking in wouldn't go cold. As he ate, his eyes remained fixed on the commander's face, which was reflecting a surprisingly friendly expression.

Adea: My dear Oliver, that was really nothing compared to some of our missions.

Ollie had seen his fair share, especially early in his career aboard the Vancouver. And those experiences... let's say when he had a chance, he took it and requested transfer as soon he could to seek out a quieter post. But now, as a junior officer, he was assigned, unable to choose where.

And the tone of the commander's words, the way he phrased them, made Bergman realize that Artemis would not be the tranquil post he had longed for.

Bergmen: I… ::pause:: Good to know, commander.

It was more than evident that the ensign lacked a solid knowledge of the Artemis' history, knowledge that the ensign had yet to grasp.

Adea: Have you ever heard about CloQ, the Q that seems to be obsessed with this crew?

Ollie was pretty sure he'd never heard the name before. The part about Q had told him it had something to do with the Q Continuum... and that was part of a short list of Starfleet unusual encounters during his... somewhat accelerated diplomatic training at OCS.

He tore off another piece of pita bread and swiftly dipped it before taking a bite, allowing himself a moment to consider the question.

Bergmen: Not about CloQ in particular, sir. But Q Continuum and Picard-Janeway encounters were mentioned during my diplomacy classes at OCS. Nothing much specific, though.

Bergmen glanced quickly at the commander, trying to determine whether he had struck the right chord with Q Continuum.

Adea: Response

Ollie listened intently as the commander recounted the story, nodding along while leaving his food untouched. It wasn't just that the commander decided to share this example of ship history.

Bergmen: I assume the sick bay is often overcrowded with injured, given the vessel adventures, right? Sir. ::pause:: Is there anything else I should watch out for or be aware of?

When he paused after his rhetorical question before continuing, the ensign's expression tightened slightly.

Adea: Response
