((Gymnasium, Deck 4 - USS Artemis-A))
Genkos was on the offensive now, sneaking forward, his feet barely leaving the platform but instead sliding slowly across. He raised his akai high above his head, like a snake attempting to strike, and brought it down in a harsh arc, a few inches away from Talos’ face.
Adea: ~ Damn ~
But that wasn’t the end of the maneuvre known in the business as a Flanarian strike - much like that bird, the head came down quickly, but then jerked upwards, which is what Genkos’ akai did now, flicking upwards and trying to hit underneath Talos’ defence and make contact with his ribs. The akai smacked home with what was a very satisfying THWAP to everyone but Talos. He groaned, stumbling back a couple of steps and rubbing the offending spot. Genkos offered him a cheeky grin.
Dakora: ~ Ow! Was that the damned Flanarian!?~ He gestured to the Doc with his akai.:: ~ I fall for it every time!~
Releasing his side, Talos collapsed his akai and executed a shallow bow. Genkos replied with his own bow, matching Talos’ depth.
Dakora: That’s eleven. The match is yours. Well done. ::He smirked.:: You bastard.
Adea: It was a close run thing, you did very well. Especially considering you haven’t played in a long time.
They both moved over to the bench for water, uttaberry juice and the beginning of some cooldown stretches.
Dakora: You know, if MacKenzie finds out that you spent the morning wailing on me with a stick, she’s going to be jealous. ::He laughed.:: Might give you a medal..
Genkos laughed in response and collapsed his akai with a snap.
Adea: Whose idea do you think this was?
Talos continued shaking out his limbs and rubbing at various soon-to-be-bruises, and Genkos rubbed his left calf muscle, which had decided to wake up. And it was groggy as all hells.
Dakora: Speaking of Captains– current and former– how is Commodore Nicholotti doing? You two get any time on Risa together?
Genkos smiled wistfully as he recalled Kalianna’s visit fondly - their time on the beaches of Risa was something that he was not likely to forget.
Adea: Oh did we. She’s well - she’s enjoying jaunting around the galaxy on the Eagle, and they seem a good crew.
Dakora: Response
Adea: What about you? How’s your love life going?
Dakora: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
