((ROOM 05-0799 – DECK 5, USS ARTEMIS-A))

The Andorian had returned. Sandwich had been eaten. Sonic had been eh… showered. The dull grey and blue of standard issue Starfleet jogging pants and top covering the blue of his blue. He collapsed onto the two-seater sofa, face down, his feet and much of his legs sticking off one end.

Tho’Bi: Your communicator is broken.

Cole: ::focused:: I’m not sure yet

Tens of seconds passed before the Andorian Engineer ‘sat up’ on his elbows, turned and looked at the pieces of the communicator properly.

Tho’Bi: ::excited:: Woah! 2150s Flip Communicator ::nods:: really good noodles!

The Andorian rolled off the sofa and arrived to inspect the collection of small silver and black parts. He made no attempt to touch the pieces. Having his own pet projects over the years, he knew that was a ‘no no’, unless invited.

Cole: ::looking at him:: Yeah, good eye. ::smiling:: I’m still amazed at how good of a condition it's in, almost like it was still in use.

Tho’Bi: ::speed talking:: Do you have enough tools? ::points at assorted Engineering kit:: You can use mine ::attention back on pieces:: where did you get it? ::tilts head:: do you have a power cell for it?

The velocity of the Andorian Engineer's wordage may have been a touch too much for the Security Ensign.

Cole: I think I have everything I need, but I appreciate the offer. This ::points to the box:: was a gift from my Aunt, not sure where she got it, I have my suspicions though. I think there’s one in there, not sure if it's got a charge.

Tho’Bi: Can I check?

Cole: Sure, take a look.

The human slid the box over to the Andorian. Even in his weary, guilt-ridden state, the young Engineer had not lost his childlike love of tinkering with tech.

Antennae twitched. The power cell was uneven in its density. What would have been fluid elements felt sluggish.

The one meter ninety centimeter Andorian bounded to his feet and bounced over to his Engineering kit, scooped it up, and bounced back.

As the Engineering Tricorder lit up with a series of high frequency pings, Ensign Cole stood up and stretched. She glanced at the Andorian, now engrossed.

Cole: Speaking of my Aunt, I’m going to replicate her Cherry Pastries, would you like one? I could probably have one tinted blue.

Tho’Bi: ::focus on Tricorder:: Fluids have solidified.

oO modulation to increase viscosity ::beat:: paste-ees Oo

Tho’Bi: ::looks up at Cole:: What is paste-ees?

Cole: Response

The Andorian was not convinced. Human food was odd.

Tho’Bi: Okay. I will try a paste-ee.

Cole: Response

While the paste-ees were being replicated, the Andorian returned to the tinkering at hand. He set the Tricorder to emit a low level vibration through the aged power cell. He could sense the fluids within begin to shift.

Tho’Bi: The power cell has been cold for too long. We must turn the ice back to water.

Cole: Response
